Won a title with Smoke's talent...
Now, just a "good" season is the norm.
Sad.

Just saw him on WBRZ. The man loooked blank as hell, like somebody just shot his dog.

Said he "felt bad" for Caleb. I call bullshite. He probably left the interview and went to rip the kid a new a-hole in front of the team.

I agree with your title but saying he won with Smoke's players is a reach.

Not really.

The program at the moment, however, has a very Smoke Laval-era feel to it.

You're a dumbass if you think a title in 2009 was thanks to Smoke.

Paul is a great recruiter. I'll give him props for recruiting kids that actually want to come play ball here instead of go pro, unlike Smoke.

But PM is a terrible game coach. It's evidenced time and time again. Yet anyone that brings it up is ostracized on this board.

What a disappointment so far this season. Mainieri isn't going to be fired. We are stuck with him for another 3 years or longer due to contract. What a shame. This was suppose to be the year to make a serious run and this team can't do it.

That's because there's a group of "Lump" paid informants that tow the company line; to defend anything and everything that's even remotely negative. (Loses, Coach/Administrator Incompetence, Program Dysfunction, etc.......)

They take 8 hour shifts, so the entire 24 hour cycle is covered and smothered is rosy "Alice in Wonderland" nonsense. (7-3, 3-11, 11-7) ...............

Getting national seeds isnt just a good season. Winning sec titles and tourney titles isnt just a good season.

I'm upset over the season as well but to say just decent seasons are the norm is ridiculous.

This team would have to learn how to win on the road for that to happen.

OK, so be it. The wheels haven't fallen off yet, but clearly this coach is no Skip Bertman so LSU baseball is stagnant and coaching is not up to former LSU standards during Skip's tenure. That means lower expectations for next 3 years. It better also mean no contact extensions. When it expires, vaya con dios, PM.

This team needs to learn how to win. We can't win midweek games either.

The main factor here is the dislike for him by his players, don't blame them he's a prick

If you want to get technical, he is right. It was mostly Smoke's players.

lol. Look at PM's contract. He'll be a Tiger until he decides to retire.

"Paul is a great recruiter..."

Is he though? Is it really that hard to convince kids to come play at LSU?
