109.8 from Tommy Tanks is just absurd, does anyone know Crews highest exit velo?

I know he hit one 111.5, but I can't remember if that's his best.

exit velos don't get you to Omaha
timely hitting, consistent starting pitching and much better defense than lsu played last year is what will get them to Omaha

Scrimmages begin Thurs, Fri and Sun of this week - Sun will be at noon.

I don’t think there’s a fall preseason pre-scrimmage metric for timely hitting. Just enjoy the fact we have two of the top hitters in the country.

Do you think it’s a coincidence that the guys with the top exit velocity are also our both batted over .350 with 20+ HRs last year?

How do college exit velocities differ from the pros? I assume they’re much higher with the different bats.

Not really. Professionals still average higher exit velo's even with wood bats. Pros are on a different level when it comes to generating power.

Thanks. We all needed to know this on a post that is just talking about exit velos. Got to keep an eye on the prize. No need to just enjoy one thing first.

Neither does having pitchers that sit in the upper 90s, but it sure as hell helps.

wooden bats just have smaller sweet spots but i have seen some 120's from stanton and i think the rookie ss for pitt hit the hardest one this year (i am not sure) just within last few weeks

MLB players also learn how to use every part of their body to create power. Something that takes years and thousands of swings to truly learn.

Exit velo is more of a process-oriented metric rather than a result-based one.

It doesn’t mean every hard hit is a base hit, but guys with the most consistent barrels are generally going to be your best hitters over time.
