We are 7-5 and have been competitive in almost every game due to our pitching.

Going forward, if the pitching remains strong and our hitting comes around, LSU becomes a tough out.

Let's be honest, the hitting can't get much worse. As a result, even a marginal increase equates to winning consistently. If we get hot, we become dominant.

Time will tell, but I am going to be hopeful.

If the wheels fall off, then a decision on CPM being the coach is going to be a headache for the AD.

I get the frustration but baseball is a different sport. It is a long season.

No we haven't.

I agree, but I don't see the hitting doing anything this year

Oh yes it can. Just wait and see.

Hey Coach Pawl

Trust me this is already a big hemorrhoid for Woodward

There is no doubt that i will be cheering this team on the rest of the way, no matter what.

The potential problem is that Paul has never hidden his nervousness or stress level well. The team follows. With every additional loss, this get amplified.

However, baseball is truly its own deal. All the team needs is some random animal running across the field one night....and things suddenly turn around. Who the hell knows?

Than say basketball? Both have Long seasons and different obstacles to overcome. CPM unlike will wade was not forced to coach a team that wasn’t his own doing in terms of being short handed. Yet there’s people on here that believe will wade is under performing. This can’t be any further from the truth. Those people are typically supporters of other coaches on the LSU campus. Why is there a division among the fans? It simply boils down to jealousy. Certain coach’s supporters couldn’t stand the fact that will wade turned an atrocious program around in a short time and gained all of the popularity. Why? Because he’s young and people believe it somehow makes their favorite coach less in the eyes of the fans! It is really that simple.

We need to go 6-0 heading into the SEC opener in Oxford. 6 home games against very, very beatable teams.

Our collective "optimist" view has led to LSU going from the number one baseball program in the country to the number two or three baseball program in the SEC west.
CPM continues to hire yes men & continues to have a "young" team that does not develop kids.
I will give him credit for not having half of his pitching staff on IR, but wonder out loud how much of that he was forced to do by parents of pitchers who watched their sons over pitch as freshmen.

Went to the Classic and the pitching was great in Two of the games and good in the other”lead off pitcher was great relief sucked” The problem I see with this team is that the hitters are not disciplined at the plate. They swing at pitches that are way out of the strike zone! The new hitting coach has his work cut out for him!

Yes, because there are no other baseball teams that swing at things way outside of the strike zone. Not like that’s half of the point of pitching or anything

The pitching is a reason to be optimistic. However, the hitting is incredibly troubling considering that we haven't faced the caliber of pitching we will see in the SEC.

It is a problem. Hopefully smith can help them with pitch recognition and 2 strike approach

How long have we been fricking saying this? Seriously? How long?

This isn't just a 2020 problem. It isn't just a problem with this particular class that Paul recruited. It's been YEARS that this has happened. He's had sufficient time to fix the problem with the right hire, the right solution in mind, etc.

Coach O looked at LSU offense, made the right hires, got the players he needed to fix the problem, and then look at 2019. That was the model of a coach who absolutely did what he needed to do when trying to fix something.

Paul on the other hand, hires his buddies, gets salty in interviews when asked about if he learned anything from Coach O or LSU football's turnaround, and is still giving his "well that's baseball" type responses after losses. Lazy, lazy effort and approach.

He made that hire in the offseason and so far you have given that hire 12 games to show results. This isn’t like football

Man get out of here. This isn't something that just popped up. And it's not something that should take years to fix. And honestly, based on the sample size we have seen so far, it looks to me like not a damn thing has been fixed with hitting.
