Bama versus Spread Power 5

43 (5 turnovers, one fluke play, one half arse illegal play)
23 (punt return for TD)
14 (couln't finish the game)

I think we could have played better on the lines but at the end of the day we got out matches and the out coached. I think we'll be fine moving forward during the season and also as a program. Geaux Tigers!!

Edit: this isn't a spread tard thread

The matchup is overrated

Tennessee had about average
Ole Miss had 28 points off of turnovers.
A&M had a special teams TD and threw 3 Pick Sixes (thats 16 points scored vs 21 given up)

Maybe Bama's defense is just really fricking good.

Oh no I agree. I didn't elaborate enough on the spread part and tried to emphasize the numbers were inflated due to other reasons.

Bamas defense is Elite and the best they've had since 12 if not 11.

Bama's defense is really fricking good and Cam didn't exactly account for that.

I agree with the running game approach we had 1st half but it got absolutely no where. I would've liked to see 2nd half adjustments from Cam/Les but once BH threw that INT, the game plan went into a complete shell.

BTW, the final 2 drives before half were the most productive all game. Too bad we completely abandoned that philosophy in the 2nd half.

I also think Bama exposed what we feared most all season is our lack of defensive depth and youth on the Line.

I am not a fan of Steele. He has lot's prove.

I'm more of a fan of Steele than Cam! And that's saying something.

It bothers me with the amount of talent on the offensive side of the ball with such little creativity CC brings to the table.

I want Guice/Fournette in the backfield with BH6. Run some jet sweeps, read options, screens and short passes.

It's not fricking rocket science.

I am a fan of Cams philosophy and playbook but am iffy on the playcalling but i think it has a lot to do with Harris not being fully ready to grasp the offense.

Watching 2013 and Watching this season is almost complete opposite and ironically gives me hope to what one more season of maturity can bring...

I believe that BH can't grasp the offense in a sense because the coaching staff won't let him. This kid is smart, intelligent, bright, etc. You look around at Clemson's QB and other freshman and sophomore QB's around the country and they seem to be able to do well. I think it's because their coaching allows them to. Hell the QB for Notre Dame is their 3rd string. I know we run a pro-set and all that, but when you don't allow your QB to make mistakes and grow, what you get is what you saw Saturday night after the INT. The playcalling was already suspect before that and then the INT happens so you know there wasn't gonna be much more passing. And as I said in another post earlier, as much as Harris can't seem to throw a short pass, I blame the coaching staff for this. By running 75% of the time and for the other 25% throwing just deep balls for the most part, there is no way for BH to replicate practice to a game situation. We had 7 games to do this, but yet we didn't prepare him well at all in my opinion.

WhAt I don't understand is why can we take a play out of Auburn or TCU or even chip jelly playbook. Run a play that's a triple option read. Either hand it off the back or the quarterback takes or he could throw it. That would spread Alabamas Dline and give us space to run

Cam Cameron is running exactly what Les Miles wants him to run. Exactly.

You think the guy that developed Brees, Flacco and Rivers in the NFL would be running that archaic/1950's Offense if he were totally and 100% in charge of the Offense? No way!

He's calling plays strictly based on the scripted Game Plan that Les Miles wants. This is a Les Miles Offense. Cam is just pulling the trigger for the Grass Man. Yall think CC would continue to run into a brick wall after it's well apparent that it will not work. This is Les all the way, no doubt.
