Have not seen this one yet. Kid is killing it and deserves a scholarship. I didnt catch the entire game but what I did see he was nailing them out of the endzone. That has made a huge improvement on Special Teams from the last 5+ years. Here's to a few more years of boomers

Didn’t he run the guy down and make a game saving tackle on a kick off?

So happy to have a K that routinely puts the ball in or through the end zone. I hated always kicking the ball to the 10 or 5 then listen to some sunshiners argue on here that that is what you really want to do.

Did not realize he was from Auburn until I made sure I was spelling his name correctly. Great Homecoming!

It must have been a great high for him to win like that in his hometown.

And the one time he didn’t get a touchback, it didn’t hurt that Atkins was an all state safety in HS.

It's nice to have a kicker that ain't afraid to stick a runner either

The dude can also hit, not your normal kicker mentality

Love this kid. He’s also played safety in High School so making that TD saving tackle was no sweat for him.

He actually kicked on through the uprights on a kickoff yesterday. Had to rewind it just to make sure I saw it right. Pretty damn impressive.

Well, I get what you’re saying, and with the new rule, a fair catch gives you the ball at the 25 anyway, so no reason to try to pin them deep. But a sky kick that allows the coverage time to get to the guy catching the ball to hopefully pin them inside the 20 really is a very sound strategy. Our problem wasn’t the thought behind it. It was the execution and coaching.
