I agree. Seems like a great position to help get one of our many talented former players in the door and around program.

What Austin did and what Faulk did are totally different. Not the same job.

That bridge is burned. Thomas wasn’t particularly hirable after the LSU/Tennessee debacle. The only reason he even has a job is because there’s a college in existence named Texas a&m and he’s a former LSU staffer.

Player development has a lot to do with current roster as well as recruiting. Wouldn’t be surprised if O has someone in play and has NFL ties.

You ever notice how we started having depth problems at certain positions when he was "managing the roster" and since hes been gone weve corrected a lot of that? Yeah, we dont need him

Because most ranters don't really know anything and aren't qualified to make rational assessments of players, recruits, or staff. So they read something someone posts on the rant, take it as gospel, and it spreads like wildfire. Groupthink turned Austin Thomas into the one indispensable piece of the program until he left and it was proven that he wasn't. Now those same people are acting like they never liked him. It's how the rant turns.

Ryan Clark would be an interesting choice, but he probably makes more at ESPN than we would offer.

Yep, that and the fact that at that time the Rantards were desperately seeking anyone that they could possibly give credit to for even the smallest iota of success the football program had.

They had to find ANYONE besides the head coach to worship. Turns out the Tards wound up worshiping this guy, who after he left, the program excelled for the better.

This is the Tard's hero that they worshiped so they didn't have to like the coach that just won the national championship and was named the best coach in America - which means he is the best coach in the world.
