Ok, I am sure this has been asked before but what did Auburn do to hold us to 23 points? I have a feeling Clemson will use the same tactics.

It’s only been asked by people who: DIDN'T ACTUALLY WATCH THE GAME.

Clemson doesn’t have the DLineman that Auburn does.

It wasn’t Auburn. We just couldn’t punch it in. I think it was more LSU having a down game offensively. Clemson doesn’t have a defense as stout as Auburn either.

same tactics.

Only matters if Clemson has similar talent as Auburn on defense and they don't.

I couldn't because I am a Police Officer and was working that day. I was only able to catch the highlights. My apologies for having to work. SMH

Clemson not only doesn’t have Auburn’s D-Line talent but their secondary is very suspect.

I think Auburn would beat the hell out of Oklahoma too.

Georgia tried to do the same thing at the beginning of the SEC championship game. They didn’t have the defensive line to make it effective. When you have Derrick Brown and Marlin Davidson you can rush 3 and drop 8 and still get to the QB. No other team we faced could do that. Clemson won’t be able to do that either.

People keep saying this as if Auburn shut us down. We still had over 500 yards we just uncharacteristically shot ourselves in the foot in the red zone and short yardage in that game.

With that said their plan was to just have 3 down lineman and drop 8 in coverage. It makes us have to be more methodical in our drives but that's ok. UGA did the same thing mostly and you see how that worked out.

Honestly, we left points on the table. I'm going from memory, which is shakey these days.

A couple of times we barely missed making plays (at least 1 maybe 2 dropped passed that would have been 1st downs or TDs). A few head scratcher play calls. Look at our yards for the game. And Auburn has a great defense, They made a few great defensive plays as well, so you can't miss on those plays we missed.

ETA: forgot about the field conditions, definitely a contributor.

They will take the roof of the dome and put in some loose sod before the game?

So you can’t actually answer the question?

Same here. If the War Eagles can score 48 against the Gumps, they'd be able to score a bunch against OU's defense as well.

Xavier Thomas is the only D-lineman Clemson has that’s close to Auburn’s talent level.

Anytime you have Big Kat Bryant, Marlon Davidson and Derrick Brown, you can get away with rushing only 3-4 and get to the QB while disguising coverages.

Auburn also used 6 DB’s most of the game which makes their defense that much faster.

Oklahoma just tried the same thing with their sub SEC defensive line and Burrow had all day and 7TD passes.

Guess what, an ACC defense can’t do it either!

Burrow threw an uncharacteristically bad pass that was intercepted in the end zone.

We turned it over on downs inside the 5 yd line.

It was nothing Auburn did and everything about what LSU did. These issues have been fixed on the LSU side.

What universe do you live in that you couldn’t watch a replay of the game?
