bad, good or great hire so let's stop the crap and pull for the Tigers!! All you are doing by bashing the coach is hurting the football program. Hell he went 9-3 in his 1st full year! Not many first year coaches can say that so let's give him his 3 years to prove himself and after 3 years if he hasn't performed up to expectations then bash him but bashing him now shows how immature and crazy our fan base is. And I get the crowd that wants to say I told you so but come on let us real Tiger fans root the Tigers on........heck O may even surprise some of us.

At the point that you finally realize Ed Orgeron should not ever be the head coach at LSU, it will be too late. If last season and this off season didn’t show you that, you’re a misinformed fool.

At this time, he was a shite hire.

But...

In the future we will look back...

And he will still have been a shitty hire.

All kidding aside. Ill play along with this 3 year question. At 9-4 with losses to State, Troy and Bama in the regular season and losing our bowl game to ND, do you consider year one successful or unsuccessful?

3-23 in the SEC at Ole Miss as the worse coach in their history. That’s enough proof for me.

That’s a success to these people. We played hard, baw! Shucks. We almost had them.

First of all your thread title is shite.

Second, if we can't determine whether it was a good hire now, when will we be able to? Nothing that happened in 2017 or happens in the future will matter because Alleva couldn't have known any of that when he made the hire. All we know are the qualifications that Ed O brought to the table and those are not good to say the least.

For a first year coach that has the previous head coaches' players I consider 9-3 a success!

You want to play question games would you have considered Nick Saban's 1st year at 7-4 a success or failure? Should we have fired Saban?

You can't dispute on paper this was a horrific hire

how it will end is still to be determined but its not very promising at the moment

First of all, its 9-4 but it was a failure of a season in many ways. LSU never should have lost to troy. We were humiliated by a MSU team in every aspect. Auburn was an excellent win but this was the weakest schedule in decades we have had, A&M was our second best win and they had 6 losses

If we are 8 wins or less next year, the ties need to be cut and move on. We didn't move on from Les to move backwards. So far he has not delivered on his promises and it appears he hasn't learned from his Ole Miss days.

he doesn't need 3 years. If you want to count the entire interim year, this year will be #3.

9-3 just sounds a lot better than 9-4 doesn't it?

You know damn well if we won the bowl game you would have said he went 10-3.

How about 9-4? You know, since that’s what it was.

What was LSU’s record the year before Saban came? What was it the year before Les was fired?

Where in Saban’s history of head coaching did he go 10-25 or worse?

Look back over the last decade and 9-4 isn’t prettty good for LSU.

We hired him to improve the team and he didn’t.

We can’t hold him to an O standard or a National Standard because LSU is an above average program.
