Assuming we’re healthy, what should the line up look like?
Posted by GeauxTime9

Assuming Berry and Doughty will both be back this weekend. You put Berry back at 3rd and Doughty at 2nd. I do think Jobert played well enough in RF to allow for another DH bat. If Millazo is healthy I would like to see him behind the plate and McManus DHing.
1. Crews CF
2. Tre 1st
3. Berry 3rd
4. Doughty 2nd
5. Pearson LF
6. Thompson SS
7. Jobert RF
8. McManus DH
9. Milazzo
Not sure what the health status is of Milazzo, if he’s out you slide McManus back to catcher.

McManus is our catcher at this point. CJJ has said as much. If Milazzo can help its as a late game défensive replacement

To be fair, Jobert has looked like crap in right field

McManus will catch. Move Jobert to DH. Pearson to RF. Dugas in LF.

Man, how did I forget him. Let me try this again.
1. Crews CF
2. Tre 1st
3. Berry 3rd
4. Doughty 2nd
5. Pearson RF
6. Thompson SS
7. Jobert DH
8. Dugas LF
9. McManus C
That’s a stout line up. We can make a run if we can get healthy. Seems like in SEC play, we played very few games at full strength.

2b Doughty
SS Thompson
DH Jobert
RF Pearson
Ca McManus
LF Dugas

That's a grown-a$$ man lineup. Any serendipitous pitching and the post season could be fun.

Whatever coach writes on the card is what it should look like

I like the Dugas at 9 to drive in some runs and also turn the lineup over

I am somewhat worried about Berry at 3B. We have no idea if he can throw a baseball right now. If he has to DH I would like to see this:
1. Crews CF
2. Tre 1st
3. Berry DH
4. Doughty 2nd/3rd
5. Pearson LF
6. Thompson SS
7. Jobert RF
8. Dugas 2nd/3rd
9. McManus C
1. Crews CF
2. Tre 1st
3. Berry DH
4. Doughty 2nd/3rd
5. Pearson LF
6. Thompson SS
7. Jobert RF
8. Dugas 2nd/3rd
9. McManus C

Career OPS in college
Crews 1.130
Berry 1.124
McManus 1.073
Jobert 0.975
Pearson 0.972
Dugas 0.970
Morgan 0.921
Doughty 0.902
Thompson 0.772
That's the 9 if Berry and Doughty can play in the field. Coach can decide the order.
Other than Tennessee, I doubt another team has 8 guys with a career OPS over .900. We saw against Vandy what they can do when hitting on all cylinders.

I say we stop with the milazzo talk. He’s not coming back this year.
I project that Berry won’t be fully healthy to field but can hit so Cranford will bat last and provide some stability on defense on the road.
Crews CF
Pearson LF
Berry DH
Doughty 2B
Morgan 1B
Thompson SS
Dugas LF
McManus C
Cranford 3B
If Berry can field then I’d do the master lineup.
Dugas LF
Crews CF
Pearson RF
Berry 3B
Doughty 2B
Morgan 1B
Thompson SS
Jobert DH
McManus C
This lineup is where opponents dreams go to die

You think he keeps Jobert out of the lineup? Not saying you’re wrong but Jay has seemed to ride Jobert all year no matter if he’s on a hot or cold streak. I don’t think Berry will be ready to play in the field either so I think he’ll have a decision to make at 3rd

Jobert is cold sometimes but when he is hot he’s proven he can be superstar level hitter. I like the all hitter line up but also Crawford is automatic at 3rd and I don’t know if I want to take that out the line up

No
Crews 8
Pearson 7
Berry 5
Doughty 4
Morgan 3
Jobert 9
Thompson 6(only cause he can hit)
Dugas dh
Mcmanus c
I fell like I stole an ole ladies purse not having Cranford on defense starting.
For the record, I'd be totally comfortable with Cranford at ss batting 9th with Thompson on the bench.

If it’s a lefty and Berry can’t play 3B you have a choice of Dugas or Jobert in one of the corner outfield spots. As someone said there is no way he plays Dugas at 3B for the first time this year.
