Associate head coaching duties?

As "Associate Head Coach," what are Dave Aranda's duties that differentiate him from other defensive coordinators? Is it possible to add OC search coordinator to his duties?
I think Aranda would take a systematic and logical approach to find the best OC to pair with his defense. He knows his D's weaknesses and what kind of offense would benefit it the most. He makes his living analyzing OC's schemes and is one of the best at this.

he will be the coach if O isn't there. That's about it.

I always took it to mean an additional title for the additional pay for litigation purposes, i.e. discrimination complaints.

If Aranda get's promoted would love to see him Jim Leonhard as DC.

What will be even more interesting is how long Aranda will stay at LSU v/s getting an offer to coach within the Big 6.
To keep him here, LSU has got to have him as a coach in waiting type mode. That said, we know how much he's getting paid, and that he has complete say concerning the defense. Not many programs operate this way.

Don't you remember Bebe telling everyone that he was in charge and that the STAFF does what HE want...

Insecurity. Explains a lot about the team.

Why not retain DC duties? Wouldn't that be the point of retaining him as HC?
Let him go find an OC that can challenge his defensive intellect

Jim was his DB coach at Wisconsin/ plus Wisc current DC.
Would allow him to have someone that knows the system come in and do it for cheap so he can focus majority of his attention on the team and not defensive while still having heavy influence on it.
