No names mentioned just this. “Jimmy Smith, who covers LSU for Rivals, reported on Monday that “multiple impact players” are considering opting out this season.”

Jimmy Smith
The one that predicted 5 out of 5
Anyone can throw that out there, he's trying to be first with a story like Vitale.
Names? Or it's nothing more than speculation.

Don’t be surprised when it happens. These kids are worried about their futures beyond LSU and you can’t really blame them

That tracks with what people on here were saying. Also the use of the term “impact players” and not starters. As the names rumored to be contemplating sitting out were big name backups.
We’ll see.
We’ll see.

Sure hope so. Either way it’s gonna suck losing more depth.

And it is perfectly fine if they choose to opt out just like it is perfectly fine for them to decide to play. Have the freedom of choice is always a good thing.

Two backup right guards

That dude is still around? I thought he was dead.

I am honestly surprised that Chase is playing now that they have the option to sit the year out. He literally has nothing to prove for the scouts on the field.

Probably the same thing will happen at all schools. Even if everyone's talent is a little diluted, we will still have more than everyone else.

IKR. Chase and Stingley are the 2 I was worried most about

That’s why you aren’t Chase....he is after the legacy and glory men dream about. Now go do some calculations in your home office.

Taken from the Franklin Templeton Gallup research company:
"On average, Americans believe that people aged 55 and older account for just over half of total COVID deaths, the actual figure is 92 percent.
Americans believe that people aged 44 and younger account for about 30 percent of total deaths; the actual figure is 2.7 percent.
Americans overestimate the risk of death from COVID for people aged 24 and younger by a factor of 50; and they think the risk for people age 65 and older is half of what it actually is (40 percent versus 80 percent).
In other words, college age kids are better off in school and at college, not at home. This media narrative that has pushed doomsday for young people is bullshite.

“Ed Orgeron says on @OTB_ESPN that Joseph Evans has moved to guard behind Chasen Hines. Evans moves from defense to center in the offseason. #LSU”

Probably from players who get relegated to backups and are using the opt out as a reason to protest them not playing and to protect a burned year when their playing time would have been minimal to begin with. We all know at least one of the guards you’re referring to.

So we can’t get any Big Ten/PAC 12 transfers to take their place? Or will the NCAA squash that before it begins?

I havent heard Kardell Thomas name mentioned all summer. Dont be surprised if he decides to opt out or transfer.

There comes a point where we can't say "it's okay, next man up" anymore. If the whole team felt the way that Vincent and Farrell do, we won't be able to field a team. If too many "impact players" opt out, it won't be fun for the fans to field our team that isn't what it could be.

Question is where they're getting their medical advice from. Makes no sense. Heck, this age group should have a 'chicken pox party'.
