Are the bats off to a slow start or are we a weak hitting team?

Team average .231

Team OPS .689

Sluggish start or close to the norm?

It's both

A poor hitting team that, even for itself, isn't hitting well looks real bad. That's what we saw over the past week (minus Sunday)

Do you think guys like hughes, travinski, bianco, and dugas will keep getting at bats if they dont hit? If no, then obviously itll get better

Off to a slow start because they are a week hitting team.

There have been 8 different lineups in 8 games. There is no consistency both by players or by design.

Good point.
Do you believe PM has sorted everything out now? I do not. It will be interesting to see what he does the next four games.

I think we will get a good idea of what he thinks the best options are this weekend. Or at least the best possible options right now. It might not ultimately end up that way, but he's going to put out who he thinks his best 9 are and try to win. It's a not a tinkering kind of weekend.

It’s a very young team. It will improve

I think he settled on seven spots and juggles two others over the next four games.

LF, CF, SS and 2B are far from settled, if you ask me.

If I heard correctly that Florida team that won the CWS in 2017 (who we lost to in the Finals) didn't have a single hitter that hit over .300. Our strength will be our pitching if they can all stay healthy. That said, I think there are at least 4 guys in this lineup that can/will hit over .300 (Cabrera, Garza, Mathis, Beloso). I think the bats will come around especially when it warms up.

I'm skeptical on the bats this year. But let's give it some more time and re-evaluate. Still far too early to tell.

Their top hitter hit 299.
Their worst starter was 237.
Their team average was 259.
They hit 53 homers
They struck out a lot too, 496 times

We can get there, but there’s work to do.

I agree, but I’m guessing PM puts a guy at second and a guy in CF and sticks with him.
But I’m guessing.
