Do we go to the Wisconsin well one more time? (Jim Leonard)

We could possibly look to Michigan State again (Mike Tressell), but it was only his first year. In that year, though, he fielded the nation’s #1 rush D, #2 efficiency D, #8 scoring and 3rd down defense, and #10 total and first down defense. Kind of like a Defensive Joe Brady (almost). At MICHIGAN STATE.

Or a sleeper pick like UAB DC David Reeves?

ETA Shoop (thanks Capt Crown) Really like this idea.

Our fans, collectively, have to be one of the dumbest fan bases in the wide world of sports

Shoop should definitely be considered. Also maybe Manny Diaz. He might want out of that dumpster fire in Miami, and he’s literally the only reason they didn’t lose every game they played.

You're talking about a fanbase that complains about the baseball coach only hiring his former players and then says he needs to be replaced by one of his former players.

So yeah, I agree.

I say we go all out for Shoop.

He's a top shelf DC and our defense wouldn't miss a beat.

The Big 10 has trash offenses up and down the board.

At one point they had 5 of the top 10 scoring defenses.

My suggestions

Shoops
Grinch
Make Leonhard day no.
See what Dan Lannings might want. Make 2.5 mill and get out of Smart’s shadow?

Matt House

LINK

What about Matt House. Was a DC and LB coach for Kentucky, helped develop josh Allen and was ranked 6th nationally for defense in his one season as DC. He’s made the jump to nfl before and come back to coach Pitt. Good history, salary is around 800K, now.

Kris Richard was just let go by the Dallas Cowboys. He has ties to Pete Carroll, and so does Coach O. Pete Carroll's defenses have always been stout at USC and in the NFL. Plus let the Cowboys pay some of his salary while he's at LSU.

Kris Richard was instrumental to the formation of the Legion of Boom defensive secondary. He helped coach and develop players such as Richard Sherman, Earl Thomas, Kam Chancellor, Brandon Browner, Byron Maxwell and for his rookie season only, Shaquill Griffin
