Aranda really likes his noseguards for 2018, LSU's defense next year appears to be solid along the D-line but can use a few more, also at linebacker, and DBU will always be DBU.

On offense, LSU needs more depth for the O-line, but the most urgent need are the skill players on offense which LSU is losing a lot of after this year and needs to really address, signing some top receivers and running-backs will be key to beating Alabama and winning the SEC next year, along with getting a QB ready next year who can consistently complete passes, and not miss them.

LSU has a really solid offensive philosophy now to build on in 2018 which the Alabama game proved, LSU's offense just needs skill players and a steady QB to make it work efficiently. Toughest job will be getting freshmen running-backs and freshmen receivers learning Canada's offense and being ready to start on day one.

Not sure how you can say we have a solid offensive philosophy. We matched a lethargic and beatable Alabama team in yards but not points, our coaches coached to “not lose”. Our players came out ready to play, but the play calling was plain atrocious in the second half. I thought the players did fine considering they were bottled up the whole game by both Alabama and our shithead coach.

Seriously, take the blinders off people. We are in for at least another year of the same bullshite.

Downvote all you want, but you idiots will be ready for Orgeron to leave after he drops one more WTF game this season and loses to Shitstain State again next year.

Do you think our defense had anything to do with making them look this way?

They've been scoring 40-50-60 points on most teams.

Where, at any point of my original post, did I say anything about defense? You obviously never went to LSU or any form of school of higher learning with that (lack of) reading comprehension.

In all seriousness, with the level of success that the defense was having, a coach worth more than a box of boudin and a case of Dixie would be able to take the reigns off and let the ball fly a bit. The drive that comes to mind was 6 mins left in the 4th and we were running the ball and taking time in the huddle. What a shitty excuse for a coach.

That was Aranda's answer when the media asked several weeks ago about the lack of depth and recruiting along the Dline.

This is dumb

You Bama/Saban lovers always say Bama was playing bad or lethargic or whatever. Bama played virtually mistake free and made 2 huge plays in the game that were the difference (Hurts scramble on third down when he was about to be sandwiched and the INT).

In the second half, LSU used wildcat, passes to the backs, threw the ball downfield and had some success running off tackle. It was a competitive game if they execute on the deep balls and don't lose the turnover battle (don't throw the INT)

What was atrocious was running out the clock at the end of the first half. THAT was upsetting.

Yeah, Bama looked real lethargic getting into shoving matches every other play and trying to tackle Guice 5 seconds after the play was over. And we all know that Saban always has lethargic teams. What a crock of shite.

Offensively, there were a couple of drives that I thought had shitty 3rd down calls, but when you're throwing long balls numerous times to open WRs and your QB just can't hit them in stride and when the QB throws a pick on a simple pass to the RB out the backfield, you are limited as a play caller.

If he doesn't lose another WTF game this season , will you get on here and say you were wrong about that. I had no clue why O was hired, but I give credit where it's due and LSU hasn't shut down the Bama running game like that since 9-6 when every damn player on the field was an NFL player.

Well I graduated from LSU and you are a fricking embarrassment. Don't ever tell anybody out in public that you're a grad.

I realize that cynicism is en vogue as a New Orleans way of life, but good Lord man. You know they make medication for what you have, right?

It was very obvious why the play calling went the direction it did to anyone paying attention to the game. Etling just couldn’t get it done, missed a lot of big throws that could’ve been the difference in the game. It’s obvious they didn’t trust him to not make it past his first read and panic. I had no problem with the play calling, Etling just had a terrible game and the coaches knew it

That is why Grimes has got to go! His recruiting has not been good enough. Time to bring in Mawae or Rob Sale.

Obviously LSU will need to help at RB, but I like what they are returning at WR. In fact, I think LSU has the exact type of WR's to match-up with a team like Bama. Let's face it. Alabama's defense will always be talented and sound. Their DB's will be good. But I don't care how good you are as a DB. If a 6'4, 6'5, 6'6 WR can out jump you for the ball, there's not much you can do. A lot of Ole Miss' success vs. Bama came because their big WR's just beat Bama's DB's one on one. Clemson did that with Mike Williams last season. We saw Chark and Sullivan each do it once last night. I don't think Canada called a great game (ok, but not great) because he didn't take enough advantage of his size matchups on the outside.

If you give me my 6'5 WR matched up one on one with your 5'11 - 6'0 DB, I'm taking that match up and just making a high back shoulder throw.

LSU has basketball players at WR. Yet, they don't take enough advantage of their size.
