This is what it’s looking like. O was not happy with the lack of pressure or with the linebacker play. He wants more speed on the field and Ojulari can no longer be kept off the field. O believes he will make life uncomfortable for Trask. Sucks for Anthony. Jabril moving to the spur role puts him squared in a matchup with Kyle Pitts. Jacoby is too stiff and heavy to match up with him now but the plan is shut down the seams and force Pitts to run across the middle where Jacoby will lay the wood. It’ll be more cover 3 off coverage and letting our speed come up and make plays. Look for Stingley to follow Kadarious Tony all over the field though.

SDE- Ali Gaye
WDE- BJ Ojulari
NT- Apu Ika
DT- Glen Logan
Mike- Jacoby Stevens
Will- Josh White or Devonta Lee
Spur/SS- Jabril Cox or Devonta Lee
Rover/NB- Mo Hampton/ Cordale Flott
FS- Todd Harris/ Jordan Toles
CB- Stingley & Ricks

Does it even matter at this point.

Shake up the lineup. Who cares if they have no clue what their base assignments are.

Someone go watch tape on him during the MSU game. That is a mistake.

Where did this info come from?

Cox shadowing Pitts is not a good idea imo. Cox was chasing Mizzou players all day Saturday

That’s a lot of speed being out in the field. Hopefully they can play fast

Which is why we are desperate for another safety to add with Sage Ryan. I knew Delpit leaving would be a big hit but damn we need Kary Vincent.

The only way we are stopping Florida is if we run a 4-2-7

If you are hearing this isn't this something you should share with your friends not making it common knowledge on a forum.

Idk maybe im paranoid but this kinda makes me mad. Oh well thanks for the info I guess..

I been wanting stevens to take over Mike since about the 2nd quarter of msu game seeing how bad clark was and how he wasn't laying wood and getting lost.

Im excited about the change I think it's a long time coming. I am so happy about cox switch with stevens also I was thinking during candy and missouri that he looked like a CB or SS out on the field. I LOVE THIS MOVE!!!

imo the two worst positions MLB and the lack of speed at SS was most upsetting and should have been fixed not a knock on clark or stevens but they have grown out of the position they wanted. Clark should bump up to DE and work at that and start grinding he is just a little to slow and avoiding contact at DE he doesn't have a choice.

What ever keeps Clark off the field, he doesn’t want to be out there...I haven’t seen him fight off a block and make a tackle all year..The roll he’s currently in as opposed to last year makes him look extremely uncomfortable...

Why couldn't Bo just swallow his pride, scrap his philosophy for one year and run Aranda's 3-4, for continuity if anything. Gaye and Ojulari have NFL LB written all over them.

Nobody is matching up with Pitts! That dude is going to feast on this secondary.

But

I get why the coaches are trying something new because what they been doing hasn't worked at all!

Good luck

Mismatch! Pitts will set records improve his draft stock even more. He should send O/Bo and Cox gifts after the draft.

Why Stevens has remained at Safety is mind-boggling. He's not a safety vs. today's offense. Bo thought he had is "Laron Landry" at safety with Stevens. The problem is Laron Landry played safety in college 15 years ago (man I'm getting old!). The offenses have changed greatly since then. Stevens is bigger than Queen...who is doing just fine at LB in the NFL.

Ojulari is raw. Will make mistakes. But even making those mistakes he is no worse than Moore or Anthony. Mizzou ran kind of a basic jet sweep with a fake handoff to the RB. Anthony NEVER knew the guy on the sweep had the ball. He crashed inside at the snap and was literally trying to fight down the line to the RB while the WR was running outside unimpeded for at least 10 yards.

Everyone was excited about the DT's before the season. I wasn't. These are big-bodied 3-4 DT's. Not gap shooting 4-3 guys. I understand and agree with O that he wants more pressure from his DL, but I'm not sure what he has at DT can produce that on a consistent basis.

Ultimately, I think what O wanted was a return to the "glory days" of defense like he had at USC and NEVER considered that the game has changed since then.

Same reason E and Linehan can’t replicate Brady’s elements. Pellini and O are incapable of observing, learning, and implementing successful prior concepts....even if in the same room with designers of prior successful systems.
