Making open field tackles at 335lbs....wow. Know we can't move him off O-line, but think he would kill it on D-line.

Because defensive lineman are so often required to make open field tackles....

Could be? Sure!

But I'm extremely glad he's not.

I wonder how much flack that Miss State return man has been getting for getting tackled by Jones in the open field like that?

I think what OP is getting at is he obviously can tackle which, last I checked, is a skill needed on the defensive side of the ball.

Not only that, he has great feet and is super athletic. He'd be great on either side IMO.

I don't know but I don't want to think about it. Our current d-line is fine and will get better while our o-line is the area that has needed, and still needs the most improvement. I am excited to see what CBK is going to be able to do with our o-line over the next few years and it starts with guys like Emery Jones.

His ability to move like that is what makes him a good OT.

He probably can play DL but OL is more needed position across the board.

Last I checked, Kelly has been desperately changing positions in the OL in order to find a group that works.
Why would he change an OL man to the DL where there is already adequate players.
Have you forgotten Fla St already. Daniels was running for his life almost every play.

I think you are mistaking a 'could he play DL' hypothetical as a 'he should play DL' statement.
