Anyone know what’s going on with Emmitt Williams?

He’s been getting low playing time (12 minutes last night) and I noticed a few strange things at the game last night.
Wade pulled him and had a long conversation in his ear with him before letting him go sit down, then went and talked to the ref about something, then went right back to Emmitt and talked to him.
Then Emmitt posted on Twitter last night after the game “pray for me - PLEASE”
I noticed he was jawing with the guy who got the tech for A&M early in the game that resulted in that player sitting out most of the game as well.

Vanilla Ice should be able to clear this up.
FWIW, I noticed that too. He was called for a foul, jawed at the ref a little, Naz pulled him away from the official and talked to him for a second, then he went to the bench and Wade had some words with him. My interpretation of all of that was that he didn't think the foul was justified and Naz and WW were trying to calm him down before he got teed up.

It seems like he has hit somewhat of a freshman wall as far as his scoring goes. I'm sure he is just frustrated with the way he has played as of late.

I've been wondering why his minutes and production were down.
I did notice last night that he had 4 fouls in limited minutes. Hopefully that's all it is.

He is behind guys that are a little better than him. I would guess he a little frustrated when playing low minutes and getting chippy on the court probably caused a little worry about getting a make up tech at some point. He is only a freshman. I see him playing a lot for us in the future and being a huge part of the bball program.

Emmitt has a concussion after a brawl between his father and Will Wade escalated. He went to the hospital for treatment and caught a bad case of the flu.

As for Williams... He got in foul trouble pretty quickly last night. It looked like he was frustrated and Wade was trying to calm him. It's easy to forget most of these guys are 18-19 years old. He seems like an emotional guy too. He probably just hit a bit of a wall and is frustrated with himself. He'll be fine IMHO

I love that Emmitt plays with raw emotion, every single time he's in there. BUT, it amazes me how he ALWAYS gets at least one foul...that is either not a foul at all, or is the strangest looking thing I've ever seen! Most of the time it's not a foul, someone either flopped or got looked at funny....

JMO, but it appears Emmitt loses mental focus. I see a few miss block out assignments (that are very frustrating to coaches) mostly due to lack of awareness or communication between players. And as we saw last night he got in a verbal tussle with the aTm player which is totally unnecessary. This takes away from the mental part of the game.
With said, this team needs Emmitt down the stretch. We need his physical presence. We've seen his capabilities especially during the Kentucky game. He just needs to ignore the bull shite and step up the mental focus a notch or two and he should be fine.

I don't think he has grasped the gameplans/schemes as well as the other guys.
He's a force on the boards, but often is out of place on offense when we try to rotate or run set plays.
