Just wondering. They seem to be following an ole miss trend, low-key.

Not really. Texas has been down, and Baylor went downhill very quickly. aTm has been slightly above average at best. Gary Patterson is a well established coach and runs an offense that's attractive to recruits. Plus the Dallas/Fort Worth area is a pretty attractive place to live for three or four years.

Aside from them recruiting our players on scholarship?

I know, both sides could be accused of this but there's no denying they started it.

Not at all

1. They're in Dallas
2. They win a lot
3. They have an established coach
4. Coeds are fine as hell
5. Great education
6. In a power 5 conference

Honestly I'm surprised it took this long to start pulling some big recruits

Ole miss is in Oxford, MS. TCU is in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. No comparison. It makes sense for a kid to want to play there and they don't really even have to travel far to find good talent. Some of the players were committing to Ole Miss without even taking visits. That is a red flag right there.

7. Their coach sounds like Kermit the Frog
8. Coach Kermit lets the players run drug rings willy nilly

I'm also unsure why it took so long for recruits to start flocking to play for the Horned Frogs

They are in the weakest power 5 conference in the NCAA.

That is in itself a contradiction, you can't do what OM did low key. Many recruiting gurus, the one's that talked to recruits or interviewed them regularly, were picking up on things as far back as 2013.

And, regardless of that, I still say no. You can see where TCU "works their recruits". There is rarely a sudden change of heart where TCU isn't even in the picture then all of a sudden you have a commit with 1 in-home or OV.

Just look at Tunsil's timeline on 247. It was mainly a Bama/UGA battle if I remember correctly. Then Freeze did an in-home in Jan, then boom... committed. You don't see that at TCU. They're earning it.

They have a good program, but I do not remember so many big time Louisiana players considering/committing to TCU before the 20180 class, maybe I'm wrong, but do no remember.

Does that make it not a P5 conference?

It's also in the Dallas area, with elite players around every corner.

They all cheat. Including our much loved LSU. Drop the silly pretentious nativity.

Tcu is a great school actually. Good academics and Fort Worth is great city. Surely the fall of UT has benefited them , but it's not hard to understand why a recruit would want to play there. The facilities are being upgraded but it's not the atmosphere of playing in front of 100,000 . Patterson is a good coach and has been a mainstay with success so it's conceivable that they would draw good players. They have never fielded teams full of 5 star talent but Patterson gets the most out of his guys. I live in the metroplex and I prefer a night out in Fort Worth much more than Dallas.

Nah, I said it when everyone was clamoring for that sweaty pig. Only two teams in that conference out recruited tcu every year. OU and UT. No one in the mountain west was even close to them on talent.

Ehh not hard to win when all the other teams aren't even fielding the type of talent you have. But then you move to a new conference with some equal talent and go 7-5 and 4-8.
