Any idea who Rice will have available to pitch tonight?

I doubt we would see Otto again - thank God. But, who is left?

Otto starts and pitches until his arm falls off.

I would think Duplantier and Otto are out, but everyone else is available.

It wouldn't shock me to see Otto all things considered.

They are thin, but with Wayne hanging out in the dugout, I wouldn't be surprised to see anyone come out there if he needs an out.

That wouldnt hurt my feelings. No way he can stick with his pace today after all the pitches he threw yesterday.

That's what we all were saying when he came in last night also.

If the ump doesn't give Otto the pre-questec Glavine strikezone today, he'll walk about 13 hitters.

A Rice fan posted a fairly decent list of possibles sometime last night. I'll try to find it.

I am a Rice fan with pretty in depth knowledge of the team.. In his post game presser, Graham said the three guys that will be available are Austin Solecitto, Willy Amador, and Blake Fox (For an inning or two):
Austin Solecitto: Has not pitched yet during this regional. Has a 4.61 ERA. Is deaf, so is not bothered by crowd noise. Interesting guy, as he has great stuff, but bad control. Opponents only bat .178 against him.
Willy Amador: Pretty similar to Dane Myers (the guy who started tonight)... Not great stuff, but a "gamer." His ERA is in the mid 5's.
Blake Fox: Our usual Saturday starter. Threw 98 pitches in our first game, so would be pitching on 2.5 days rest. 2.68 ERA.. Was an All-American as a sophomore, Something like 31-10 in his career at Rice.
We have a couple other crappy arms we could throw out there too. For example, that guy Kravetz who has appeared for 1 batter each of the past two games will be a great pitcher someday (as shown by his 2.31 ERA), but just isn't ready for the moment.
An interesting guy is Nick Orweiler. He throws gas (tops out around 96), but doesn't really have reliable secondary stuff.
To sum it all up, we don't have a ton of guys left, but don't expect our shortstop to have to come in and pitch.

I think that's exactly what it's going to look like. If I'm betting Amador and Fox are going to be the first two guys in either order and then he will bring back Otto and frick that poor kids arm up.
Like I said in another thread on this there is absolutely no excuse for these pitchers to come out and look like all-American's against LSU pitching on short rest with weaker velocities.

He threw 41 pitches Sunday. He threw almost twice that last night. No way he can come in today and be effective.

Watch him come in and throw 3 shoutout innings to close out

I am ready to lose if it means not putting our kids arms in danger. You can't sell out to win today.
Bottom line is that we will have to score runs and play defense. To me, Rice was squaring up and hitting line drives yesterday while LSU was hitting a lot of bloops. I hope our batters can get it turned around and not feel the pressure of the moment. Have fun.

yep graham gives no fricks about pitch count and player health. He grew up playing with guys that threw every day
