I'm not sure about the studies but it's not the profanity that is a sign of low breeding. It's when you use profanity with improper grammar, that shows low breeding or a lack of intellect! However, IMO using profanity does show a lack of control or a lack of concern for others, especially when used in public.

Yes. I read everything. I find just about anything interesting. No, I didnt read the white paper but have read some study summaries on the matter.

Actually, I completely agree with you here. Its not just "curse' words, its rehashing any of the same words and cliches over and over again. Its shows a limited vocabulary. Surprisingly, politicians, journalists and other orators have gotten really bad about this. People whos job it is to speak and sound informed and intelligent. Go figure.

Disagree. People have quite varying opinions on the subject of "cursing". I only speak one language, its one with many words, but I believe in using all that are available. There are feelings and messages that just cant be conveyed the same way when using "replacement" words.
Censorship whether self-imposed or society-imposed is decidedly UNAmerican.
