Between the talent, depth, experience and infusion of DL coach, this is the most I've been excited about our DL in years.

Why does Coach O need a DL coach? Isn’t that his speciality !?

I kid... nice to see the average age of staff go down from 60 to 40. Also, this guy’s NFL experience should motivate these athletes to listen and be coached up.

Because O is the head coach, & doesn't have time to spend all day coaching the D-Line. I'm sure O spends more time with the D-Line than any other position, but he still needs a D-Line coach on the staff.

This is how it is with every school & every NFL team.

This seems like a really solid hire. But why is he moving from NFL to college to coach the same position?

Never mind. Didn't realize Jets fired their staff after the season.

Our D lineman will have a coach that they can aspire to look like and play like. He's one tough looking mofo too.

Just hope he can recruit.

My guess is more money and he has a relationship with Daronte Jones while also being a former teammate of Kevin Faulk.

Carter is going to be awesome for LSU football!

If he didn't want this job, he obviously could have stayed as the defensive line coach of the Jets, so it's clear he welcomes a new challenge and opportunity.

Carter is happy to be here, and I think he is going to have a tremendous impact on our defensive line and recruiting too.

probably for the opportunity to coach under a highly regarded championship caliber coach like coach O, no doubt. Plus winning a NC on a staff like this will surely be a boost to his resume and future earning potential.

it's one of those thing they call a "win win situation"

This is certainly an interesting strategy bringing in NFL guys. Especially younger ones. If they're even moderately successful are peetz, jones, and carter going to bolt to the NFL again?
