What's your expectations??
Posted on 3/9/18 at 9:05 am to 610man
considering he took a team full of Johnny jones rejects and won 17 this year, I'll say between 20-23 wins next year.

We were expected to finish last this year. Chill out

19 is not much different than 20. Look I hope they do well, it's just I don't go into it with much expectations. If you do, the recent history of this program shows that they will let you down. frick recent history, all history.

the history of the program has nothing to do with Will Wade.

Hope he turns it around.

It's the "event" that has eluded me throughout my sports fandom. It's not significant in the grand scheme of things, but it's important to me that LSU wins one someday.
I've always liked watching the SEC Tournament. When I was a kid, my dad would let me out of school early if LSU was playing in the afternoon sesh. We would crank up Jefferson Pilot and watch like it was life and death. Great times.
I'll say this, I would rather see LSU win the SECT than make an appearance in the Sweet 16, if only because I've never witnessed the achievement.

Jesus H. Christ people! We won 2 freaking SEC games last year and currently have the #3 ranked recruiting class in the country. We have some of the most ridiculous fans in the country! Chill the hell out!

I think a good recruiting year will definitely help to get the team in the top 20-25, but to get to the elite 8 or final 4, we'll need players that will stay at least 3 years, with some staying 4.

You’re basically saying you’re giving up on next year before this season is even over. Next year...when we have a top 3 class coming in.
And 19 is better than 17. 19 will likely get us into the tourney. That’s a solid next step for this program.

Not sure I know what you mean by "turn it around", because LSU has never been one of the big boys in basketball. Not even in the days of Shaq, CJ, etc. They had great teams, but never a program that needed to be turned around.
If anything, it needs to be built by a coach who can start at the basics and build it from the ground up. This is where I think Wade has already started to shine. This year is a big step up from last year and the years prior.
You'd have to be mentally challenged to look at what Wade has done so far and not be at least a little optimistic towards his future here.

I agree he is doing a great job so far, and his coaching ability is light years ahead of the last 2 coaches. The team fights hard and is fun to watch, however, I do not have any expectations for next season.

Go root for some other team then......

Next year, 17-19 wins, .500 in the Sec. Rinse, wash, repeat. LSU basketball never changes, no matter the coach or players.

I don't understand what the past has to do with Will Wade.

You picked the worst time to give up hope. Wade has this program moving in the right direction. He has one of the best point guards in the country returning with a Kansas/Kentucky level class coming in next season. LSU will have a legit shot at the SEC title next season.
