Look for the Florida State offense to try to focus on their run game as much as possible, but it’s truly up in the air how long their offensive line will be able to keep LSU’s hungry defensive line out of the backfield. The Tigers could force Travis to try and win the game with his arm, which is something he was only able to do successfully once last year against Boston College.

quote:

The offensive line is as banged up as could be. Their presumed starting center Kayden Lyles was lost to injury earlier in August, his backup Maurice Smith was hurt and not dressed out against Duquesne, and their third center left the game at halftime and never returned. It does not look to be an enviable job as both Maason Smith and Jaquelin Roy will take turns going after an interior offensive line that is obviously not at 100%.

quote:

Fuller runs a hybrid 4-3 and 4-2-5 defense. Their base defense will have two linebackers and five defensive backs. They play an aggressive defense that LSU will have to adapt to and learn how to exploit when given opportunities. They will put true freshman Will Campbell to the test early and often, it’ll be a good barometer for how this offensive line has come along from previous years.

Their RBs looked tough to bring down Saturday night. Tough and slippery. That said, the Duequesne defensive line couldn’t have averaged more then 250lbs and they had a LB who looked about 5’7” 230 trying to chase those RBs down.

If our DL gets some push and we’ve learned how to contain a mobile QB this off-season, FSU will be in for a long night. Their passing offense was not impressive at all; either Travis is slow to read the defense or their WRs struggled to get separation on more than a few plays.

The 6’7” WR, assuming he’s healthy, will be their #1 target but he couldn’t bring in a contested catch in the red zone and bobbled the deep ball that hit him square in the hands.

I don't see FSU's offense being able to move the ball very effectively. That said, LSU's offense probably won't be firing on all cylinders either.

It won't be pretty, but it will be a W.

I'm tired of hearing about what FSU does or is going to do.

It's about LSU. LSU just needs to line up and impose their will. They are flat out the better and more talented team. Just control the LOS and beat their arse.

Big win for LSU.

Not an offensive explosion but FSU will struggle to move the ball.

So their starting center got hurt in the offseason. 2nd string was out for Duquesne. 3rd string got hurt against Duquesne, and they moved their LG over to center.

So if 2nd or 3rd string don't come back for LSU they will be on their 4th string center, and backup LG since the starter moved over to Center. Also, PFF gave their RT a failing grade.

Yeah we better win that battle.

While only rushing 4 the LSU DL should be disrupting the backfield of FSU 2 out of 3 plays if not more.

I don’t see them trying to run the ball that much. They are going to test our dbs…..good qb or not.

Their running game is the strength of their offense. If they abandon that and start chucking the ball all over the place, then the game will be over pretty quick.

i honestly believe FSU could of got better work scrimmaging themselves rather than playing this team....that game speed is no where close to what LSU will bring..
