Amazing how many people on here don't understand Football
This new hire will reap huge benefits for us.

Scott has trained some of the best NFL around. With the limited amout of time that Coaches can spend with players, his experience will be huge in developing guys like Max Johnson and others.

An NFL Coordinator sitting in a recruits home telling how he will prepare them for the next level is priceless.

And all that most of you can worry about is the fact that he is 56.

This guy is way more qualified for this position than Brady was on paper. Let’s let this play out.

Remember, probably 90 percent of the posters here are middle school madden jockeys posting from their mom's basement
So prepare to weed through 80 tons of total garbage to find a decent take.

Not sure why anyone has a problem with the hire. It's a slam dunk in my opinion.

It’s just not a flashy name with the here and now. It’s all about the next up and comer. It’ll play itself out. Just have to wait and see. Brady was an unknown but had “promise”.

The same arguments were made for Jerry Sullivan, tons of NFL experience, how recruits would flock to LSU because of his vast knowledge and guidance on getting to the NFL.

.

I am taking the wait and see approach. But let’s say all of the above is true then why was this guy unemployed and not running a NFL offense?

This. This is a “wait and see” hire not a “home run” hire. Brady was a wait and see guy as well. Guess we’ll see. . .

FIFY

And before anyone accuses me of saying Scott Linehan is going to turn out the same way as Cameron did, I’m just saying blanket statements like the one Goldrush was responding to are just dumb.

Once again, just like Canada and Brady, this is a wait and see situation.

I still think Linehan’s ability to mesh with E will be the deciding factor in how this plays out, just as it was with Brady.

Wasn’t Cam Cameron an NFL guy?

This is a great hire for LSU. The PGC generates scheme and passing concepts based on skill players available. They also analyze opposing team’s defensive concepts to help prepare/implement offensive game plans. These personnel are largely analyzing their team and opposing teams constantly.

Linehan has over a decade of experience with the aforementioned in some key capacity against NFL defenses with a great deal of success. While we lost Brady we gained a comparable hire with more valued experience. He’s going to tear it up in recruiting and develop current talent to be elite.

Agreed. This is a homerun hire by O. Any one who pays attention understands that we basically ran a pro style two minute offense (because of the no huddle). Our QBs and WRs were expected to make pro football type reads and adjust accordingly during a play. Having an offensive coordinator with that that background is a massive deal.
