LSU softball senior Amanda Sanchez was selected in the 2019 National Pro Fastpitch Draft held Monday night.
“Amanda has had such a great career and is so deserving of this,” said head coach Beth Torina. “She is talented enough to play at the next level and it’s a great opportunity for the both of them.
“We are very honored that Amanda was chosen. She works very hard for these opportunities, and to be a part of the NPF, that has such a rich tradition of excellent softball, is a big honor for them.” The third baseman came to the Tigers last summer, transferring after graduating from Missouri. Sanchez has made an immediate impact for the Tigers this season as she leads the team and is second in the league in batting average with a .450 mark.
She owns 15 doubles, seven home runs, 49 RBI and has walked 30 times this season. Her on-base percentage of .603 is third in the nation and second among the league.LINK

One of Coach Torina's greatest recruiting jobs. She's been nothing but phenomenal since stepping onto campus. We'll definitely miss her!

One of the biggest gets Torina has ever gotten. Her big success could open up doors for future big transfers after this season is over. She is having a career year, blowing her Missouri numbers out the water.
There is talk she will stay around as a student coach next season while she is in grad school.

She has a nearly flawless swing and can flat out play her position. Probably the most significant "one-year" transfer for 2019 in college softball.

That one game she sat out recently was weird. It was like the team had no identity. She is the leader.

Where can I watch the NPF? Is it on the Ocho?

Upvote if you had no idea what NPF stood for until you opened this thread.
