With Pelini’s style and the athletes we have on D...if we can be 70-75% as good on offense going forward then I really feel we will be in every game and competing for more Championships!!! More aggressive means more negative plays and turnovers which will offset the dip of the Burrow factor

Probly

More negative plays and turnovers are fun but that doesn't matter unless it results in less points for the opponent

For sure, as long as we continue to maintain lockdown corners like we have now that can play on an island.

Pumped Up....I liked Pelini's D.

Amanda is a really smart guy but I didn't see the gang tackling that LSU used to do every play for 60 minutes plus. Anyway yeah I'm Pumped.

Thats great, as long as it doesnt lead to big plays and more points for the opponent. Also, aranda’s defenses didnt have many breakdowns in coverage. Hopefully that continues

Lol another false narrative created and spread by the rant. Nothing about Pelinis defense says it’s anymore aggressive than the one we just had. In fact Pelini is much more prone to cover 3 and other soft zone concepts than Aranda was. The sack totals from pelini and Arandas era are nearly identical and running a 3-4 doesn’t mean you only rush 3 guys. This place never ceases to amaze.

When you are very aggressive at the line of scrimmage if you don't make the tackle a long run is likely - note Ole Miss

Pelini did well here the first time around and Coach O will be more comfortable being involved in a defense he knows so it’s all good, there’s no need to add make believe to the hire.

I think the days of the 2011 LSU Bama type defenses are over. Sadly. Different game with rpo etc. key is red zone d. Holding teams to 3 instead of 7. Mixing up pressures etc.
beautiful thing this year with joe was...no distance was safe on 3rd down. He’d gut you.

There’s some truth to that but these phony legends are ridiculous. Like the one about Ben Simmons trashing LSU or Matt Canada being a problem everywhere he went or a half dozen other completely false fairy tales that were created and live in this place alone.

It all depends on how one defines aggressive.

In an environment where hits that were once hilite reel material now have targeting\ DQ ejection implications, it's more about not giving up the big chunk plays.

First downs are ok, touchdowns are not ok.

I have a different opinion of the 2011 D. IMO, it was the perfect modern day D. It would be the best D in CFB every year since then.

I meant more in terms of shutting good teams totally down. Very difficult in. Today’s game

Pellini's LSU defensive sack totals came against far fewer passing attempts than Aranda's.

Hell no. I'm really excited about it. We have the secondary to be extremely aggressive in our front 7 and just get after teams. Our secondary is what will allow us to be so aggressive and successful. We gonna frick some shite up next year with pelini.

Defenses can be outdated just like offenses can.

I will wait and see. I remember Pelini giving up points and wins to teams w a passing attack.
Unless he has learned AND IS WILLING TO THINK DIFFERENTLY,
we will not be happy w today's offenses
Kiffen, Leach, Saban, Mullen, etc.

Let's see if this movie has A DIFFERENT ENDING THIS TIME.

Pellini will be fine.... but blitzing every down is as dumb as throwing deep every down. It depends on matchups and what the other team does amongst many other things.
