Weird date though. Ships no later than Arkansas week. Maybe it means not for this week or Bama.

If it's not this week then I would say TAMU would be most likely. I believe every other time we've worn 1-off unis has been against a non-Nike school.

I thought it said the other day that it wouldn't ship until the 19th of October.

Please god be for the Rice game. (Rice is also an Adidas
school)

ETA: It just better not be for the Alabama game.

Maybe, but A&M is a road game, as is Arkansas. The only home game after that date is Rice, but I expect we'll be wearing purple against the Owls.

We may wear it in a game before you can actually get it online.

But then why would there be a "special event item ships no later than" clause?

False, Tulane had Nike Uniforms in 2007 when we played them. Arky had Adidas in 2009 yes, State had Adidas in 2015, and SCAR with Under Armour

Tulane had Nike Uniforms in 2007

Both teams wore the "Pelican Rising" special uniforms for that game, though. I also didn't count wearing all whites for Ole Miss in 2015 or the White-purple-white combo for Troy last season (though Troy is also an Adidas school).

Also Auburn in 2011*.

This makes no sense. Most sales will be made by people who want to wear it to/for that game. Then trickle down sales on the rest of the inventory afterwards. If you release the product after the big event, people are probably less likely to buy it.

It's hard to judge these without seeing a player wear them. But I think they're kind of cool from what I've seen so far.

I have been hoping beyond hope that those purple helmets were just involved in a nightmare I was having.

I have never seen an instance where the fans and players where the same uni on the same game. The advertising is the game. Sales will follow.

Then you must be very new to sports.

Nike pushed the gold stuff for Miss State in 2016 big time. The stadium was full of it: jerseys, polos, etc.

See Mississippi State 2015. Big announcement on about Tuesday of game week and then there were jerseys that day in the book store and online for purchase before the game. Same I believe with every other "alternate" jersey we've had (not including alternate combos of regular jerseys)

The description even says "Be prepared for the big game in true LSU Tigers fashion by grabbing this Nike Limited Jersey." You'd think that you'd be able to wear the jersey at the game it's showcased. I think in 2016 the gridiron gold was announced early in the week and fans were wearing that jersey at the game. The Rice game would make sense. It's at home, it's the final home game of the 125th season, and it's senior night.
