Bo Pelini played man & blitzed vs Mike Leach. Play the correct scheme & it’s a different game vs MS State.

That 1st FSU game, you could feel it in the Dome we were going to come back & win, but our special teams let us down.

Last year, USC was a team we should have beaten but didn’t make enough plays.

I hope we are locked in and loaded vs Clemson.

We used to mostly schedule rent a wins for the opener and everybody used to bitch about that. They wanted fun games. Now everybody cries because we schedule marquee games and lose some. No pleasing this fan base.

You've got THAT right. I would rather play a competitive team in the opener. It gives you a measuring stick of your team's "goodness." (or "badness")

I think this comes back on BK being soft. Like BK might pound that table post opening loss last year, but you can tell at his very core, BK is a soft guy. He ABSOLUTELY has to change that. The best coaches are A-holes. Belichick, Saban, Urban Meyer, Dabo. Being soft to your team makes them not care. Tingle and Co. morning show even said last year that BK was yelling at an OLman, and the OLman didn't even know he was being yelled at. Brad Davis had to slap him on the back and say "Hey, your coach is talking to you." I think most people would agree at least 2022 to 2024, that at his very absolute core, BK is just a softer guy. A very Midwest run of the mill personality.

That said, I think BK has gotten more tough this year. I heard any false start in Fall Camp, he sent the player running and swapped them out immediately. You can not be a great head coach and be soft. Of course 2 of those Losses came from Coach O completely checking out after 2019 which was an A-hole move to the people of Louisiana. He was like "That's it. I reached the top. I no longer care."

SEC Network put up a graphic showing longest SEC opening season losing streaks. It was 7. And was Vandy. LSU was tied for around 6th longest in SEC history. The other programs on the graphic were all consecutive losses from like the 1950s or 1960s from programs that sucked then. It was very concerning. I don't think I saw a single post 2000 SEC team on the graphic.
