Alleva’s Failures

- Duke Lacrosse
-Trent Johnson, Nikki Fargas, Johnny Jones
- getting dooped into paying for a major Les Miles extension because ‘Arkansas’
- leaks he wanted Miles gone yet retaining him due to public pressure after leaving Miles out to dry for weeks
- firing Miles mid-season to ‘give the team a chance
-letting Johnny Jones finish out a pahetic final season despite doing the exact oposite in football
- ‘I am the search committee’ meanwhile misses on top candidates and hires a guy already on campus while preaching ‘it is all about the fit
- basketball we will ‘hire the best candidate’ and he will use a search committee, directly contradicting his most recent hiring philosophy
- when Will Wade is in a similar position as other coaches across the country, instead of having his guys back, he throws him under the bus like a coward

As much as I hate Alleva, he seriously is not to blame in my opinion. He acted on season ticket holders behalf. In retrospect it was a colossal fail, but I can’t put it all on him.

Alleva simply does not have the right stuff for this job, it's beyond clear.
He lacks the courage to support his coaches, and also the courage to fire them.
It took almost a year to fire Miles, in what had to be the most disgraceful termination of any coach (Miles had no scandal, just wasn't "good enough" anymore). If you're going to do that, do it clean and with class, don't torture a guy who was loyal for a decade.
If you're going to fire Miles to replace him with "someone better" (which is what we thought we were getting into), then follow through with it, and pay your guy what it takes to get him. Don't bitch about coaching salaries, you're making money hand-over-fist on this. An AD in the SEC shouldn't be so naive as to think they can get an elite guy to take a bargain deal, when others will pay more.
If you're going to do this, don't fricking settle for the interim coach that nobody wanted, and then have the fricking nerve to say this is what we wanted all along. I guarantee you NOBODY wanted to fire Miles to promote Orgeron. We wanted someone bigger and better, not cheaper.
Regarding Wade- the internet rumors are disturbing. Understood. You go in and fire him now, and let the chips fall where they may; or you back him until such time as the NCAA comes knocking. Under NO circumstances do you do what has happened this weekend.
If this shite blows over, you have lost your best coach.
If this comes in to roost, 'suspending' him won't buy a damn cup of coffee in defense. He's been there all year, Smart has played all season, one game doesn't do shite.

You're forgetting he used the Les-Arkansas model to force LSU into giving him a big raise and extension when his name was linked with Tennessee, even though he was never a real candidate.

He announced that Jordan Jefferson would be reinstated and would play. Not the head coach. We were undefeated and the team was hitting on all cylinders. After JJ was back in the locker room you could tell there was division amount the players, things weren't the same.
