Al Woods named #10 best nose tackle in NFL
by Lindys 2018 pro football preview magazine (p.126). I didn't even know he was in the NFL after getting drafted and cut by the Saints long ago. Now plays for the Indianpolis Colts. If I remember correctly he was a 5 star DT recruit, who could dunk a basketball, who didn't really get much PT at LSU and didn't really pan out but was drafted by the Saints in the 4th round. Just looking him up on the internet and saw that he had a 37" vertical at the 2010 combine, which is very impressive and rare for a guy that size (6'3.5" 309lbs at the combine)

Freak Johnson is with the Colts as well. Had a couple tackles last night against the Seahawks.

He must be doing something right if he's still in the league.
Around that time, the dline talent LSU had was sick so I can understand the lack of playing time but still being able to survive in the NFL as long as he has.

Even Bennie Logan and Brockers had to redshirt during that time period.

he got snaps here and there as true freshman, I think was a bit nicked up but played on the 08 defense everyone loves to hate lol, and then actually started every game in 09 as a senior. so if by didn't pan out you mean didn't quite live up to the 5 star hype, yeah. but he contributed all 4 years, started his last year and got drafted in the 4th, so I'd say he had a good LSU career.

Good for him. He’s been in the league close to 10 years now if I’m not mistaken.

Always love seeing Tigers do great.

Played against Al in basketball freshman year of high school and he was the same size then as he is now. Was an absolute monster. We lost by 20 haha

He's a starting lineman in the NFL. Has had a ten year career. What are you trying to say.

Well. Lindys also had K'Lavon Chaisson as a starting DT for LSU.
