That's the key to Penn State winning another NC. A shitty mudbog field with new shitty sod, boom championship.

All I recall is PP7 (that's the guy starting at CB in the pros as a rookie right now!) getting torched on a stop-n-go move by your receiver early in the game. That just should never have happened. I knew we were in for a battle to the end after that. The elements certainly helped your cause. We would have won by double digits on a decent field. I think even you know this! Props to Penn State that day. They had the better QB in crunch time. That was the difference.

NOTE: Saying the LSU program has been in "traditional mediocrity" save for the past 8 years is an insult to this message board! We stack up pretty well against even mighty Penn State over the course of college football history. I like our program 10x better than yours now. Good luck getting back to your "old" glory. You need a new coach!

seems like PSU has a better overall winning % in games and bowls, but LSU has been to more bowl games and beats you in all other relevant categories.

Bama beats you so you have to pump yourself up by remembering that you beat LSU a couple of years ago.

LSU would DESTROY the little lions this year. Too bad your team sucks too much to get a shot. Enjoy the Toilet Bowl.

Yeah. Nothing says arrogance like a shite-talking fan of a program that would make a human sacrifice of their coach to ONLY have TWO losses (if their coach wasn't already dead).

No, class and self-respect are socioeconomic categories, and there's a loooooong way down before we meet you at the bottom of that.

Your argument is highly flawed. Penn State' traditional differentiating qualities have been LB play and strong lower body type players on the Line and RB/FB types. To this formula are added some faster athletes that are plucked from Flint Michigan or southern states, along with some sprinkling of Penn/Ohio/NJ athletic types, and when good, a mistake avoiding pocket Qb (yeah, sometimes an athelete does good at Qb also, but you get my point)

As a result, Penn State is built for a rugged in-the-trenches style of offense and defense. This, along with him being from WV and going to school at Kent State, is why I think Penn State is a place Nick Saban may one day coach. It is conservative, hard-nosed football. This style of football DOES NOT differentiate itself with a fast track, especially when playing against a top-5 caliber speed team. So, a slow track most certainly played to Penn States advantage. Without question this has a significant amount to skew the playing field away from LSU's favor.

Secondly, your team did not beat the 2006, 2007 or 2010 teams, you beat the low-point team of the last 5-8 years, so cherry-picking a comparison of that game as exemplifying beating a typical LSU team adds up no more than the incessant Texas A&M reminders of how the high point of their programs modern history lined-up against the absolute low point of the LSU program, thus they beat LSU the last few times they played LSU in the dreaded 90's.

When TAMU played a better, but certainly not best LSU team in the 2010 Cotton Bowl, they got spanked really hard, because "TEAM SPEED" is a major differentiating factor when LSU plays a power team.

On top of this, in 2011, LSU would rip Penn State a new one, as LSU has SPEED AND POWER.

You argument is a sieve.

The fact is that in that one year, on that muddy track, Penn State beat a less-than-typical modern day LSU squad, so congrats to PSU...the record books speak for themself.

But to conclude anything beyond that from that one of 6 bowl games Les Miles has lost in going 5-1 against Miami, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Ga TEch and Texas A&M. I have little doubt that a fast track game would add Penn State to that to make it 6-0, but the record books stand no matter what you or I feel, just like Texas A&M's victories over the "LSU Program" during the span of 2-5 win seasons of the 90's.

Oh, you're referring to that bludgeoning of your conference's champ? So who else belonged there considering no one else other than Hawaii had fewer than 2 losses? BTW, the 3rd place team in our conference whipped Hawaii by 30+ pts in the Sugar Bowl that season.
