Guy, the preseason rankings don't mean anything at all at the end of the season

Well How much did the preseason ranking of FSU help Bama last year????

They beat them 24-7 when at the time FSU was ranked in the top 5 and finished like crap????

Don't say they don't matter.. Now Lets say Miami is ranked top 10 in the next years preseason rankings and LSU blows them out... Then Miami goes on to have a 6-6 like season and LSU goes like 11-1... Should that Miami game count as A strong win?????

Wait a minute. I've seen a ton of posts from you "o fan-boys" over the past year who have claimed that whatever lack of depth Miles left the team with doesn't reflect on o because he was only the recruiting coordinator for a few months before becoming the interim head coach.

Now you want to give him credit for the 7th ranked class Miles had lined up before being fired because "he was the recruiting coordinator from the time Frank left until the time he was named the interim HC."

Some of you knuckleheads kill me. One day you guys say "it's not o's fault", a few days later you guys claim "he was as responsible if not more for the class as Miles."

You forgot this part of my post. You were talking about preseason rankings in regard to the overall strength of schedule.

The FSU example is a bad one because FSU lost their QB in that game. It's weighted more in favor for Bama in that instance.

No, it should not.

some of the quotes about Sullivan, both here and in previous articles, scare the hell out of me.

Sullivan was an analyst last year. Meaning he could not “coach” players.
Yet O gives the example of Chark’s development last year as reason why Sullivan is a great on field coach.

that’s borderline admitting to a violation.

OK... Lets look at the 2011 schedule and what the PRESEASON rankings were and WHERE those teams finished.........

Not sure where you’re going with this. LSU beat 3 teams ranked in the final top 5 and 5 teams in the final top 20.

you didnt answer the question.

and you deemed 2017 a " pretty good record".

why is 4 losses under O a pretty good record
but 3 losses under miles is mediocre?

you dont even realize youre arguing against your own stance.

my god

we are saying preseason rankings are meaningless. they are a guess.

if a team is preseason top 10 but finishes 7-6. they arent a good team.

no one touted the fsu win as a big win at the end of the season.

do you follow the fricking sport?

Be honest now....would you have said it was the weakest schedule in 20 years BEFORE the season started???????

Jesus jumped up and down dukke!

How many times does this need to be explained to you?

Before the season started, nobody knew that Florida was going to fall apart. Nobody knew that Tennessee wouldn't win a conference game. Nobody knew that BYU would have their worst season since the 1980's.

NOBODY knew anything about the 2017 season until the season started.

You are so slow that it hurts my heart to think of you.

No one gives a shite about Alabama’s SOS. They went 13-1 and WON THE frickING NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP.

No one doubts that they are a good team.

Middling programs like the one LSU has become are the ones that debate after the year about the merits of their SOS because we simply don’t know how good or bad we actually were.

Going 9-3 in the SEC in 2017 is not the same as a team going 9-3 in 2014 when the conference was historically strong.

We are looking at the strength of our opponents trying to figure out what we actually accomplished in order to help understand what kind of success we may expect going forward.

LSU won 6 games in SEC play. That’s really good right?

Well, FIVE of those wins came against interim/fired coaches at the end of the year. So it stands to reason that the wins against those teams were not particularly impressive, correct?

When all was said and done, LSU played only five teams that any reasonable person could consider even “pretty good”, including non-conference and the bowl game, and our coaching staff went 1-4 against those teams.

Now I’m not saying that is as good as this HC or staff can ever do, but it certainly doesn’t indicate future success or make those of us that are skeptical about his odds of winning championships in the near future “haters” or wanting him or LSU to fail.

I hope this all makes sense for you, and sincerely apologize if any of the words in this post confused or offended you

“Give O his shot”

Like Canada was given??

We don’t really have a choice, but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t express displeasure with what’s been going on at LSU since 11/2015.
