I can't believe we have to go through every offseason and hear this shite. I'm really starting to get pissed at Miles for this. He's a good coach, but this is unbelievable. It's always someone new each year.

Then prepare to be pissed at every coach in America. It happens everywhere and there's nothing they can do about it but try to keep it to a minimum. LSU is better than most. These guys aren't choirboys and never have been. The only difference is now with social media, it's public knowledge instantly.

Uh well, with Hill there were certain ... signs.

But do the facts that surround the charge disappear?

Can the judge consider the case or just the end result of it?

And you told me your answer six times, but so far, your argument is basically, "because I'm LSUdm21 and I say so."

Not that I don't believe you, but what do you base your argument on?

Really? Duke's had a guy arrested for cocaine trafficking, a WR arrested for assault, and 3 players arrested on gun charges in the last 3 years.

If so, you're not the kind of HS kid most of us know...

I'm a bit surprised at how many people who post here actually think they would have fooled around with a 14 year old when they were HS seniors.

Neither of his crimes are that bad though. He'll get a slap on the wrist and a couple games to watch from the sidelines and go on like nothing has happened. LSU did take a risk signing Hill however. If he weren't so damn good at football, he probably wouldn't have a roster spot.

The fact he is so damn good at football will have him back on the field after the meaningless UAB game for sure.

TXTiger,
What were the "signs" that Hill was of bad character?
An underclass HS girl offered him a BJ on the spot. Do only HS students of bad "moral character" (redundant) say "ok"?
REALLY?

It's based on the law. You can't bring up something that doesn't exist. You can only consider the actual charge. Like I said, any judge that would bring that up would be removed.

I ask again. Can the judge ethically be "pressured" by the ADA to revoke?

A weak judge maybe. Bonnie Jackson isn't that.

You do realize the judge doesnt work for the DAs office right?

Some lowly ADA trying to make a name for themselves should have no influence on this decision.

I weep for east baton rouge parish if the DAs office would go through the effort to throw its weight around for something as small as a 20 year old misdemeanor bar fight probation violation.

The judge added items to his probation in May(curfew and no bars). So that probably means it will not be revoked, so he should be good to go.

This isn't exclusive to LSU. It happens at every college in the country.

Agree, and with that being said, just remember these are young men who just happen to play football for the university. I guarantee you there are guys his age throughout this country doing something dumb and/or stupid this very moment, however if they are not althetes, we will probably never hear their sotry. I think sometimes people forget that a lot of these guys are extremely immature and tend to make really dumb decisions from time to time. I too, wish these kind of things didn't happen to our players, but like someone else said, LSU does have less occurrences than most colleges, and we have Coach Miles to thank for that. I pray Hill's fate is not the same as TM7 or Ryan Perrilloux, and I'm not about to listen to some bias writer tell us his opinion about what should happen to him. All we can do is wait and see what actually happens.

The DA's office motions the court to revoke the probation, so of course they're going to argue that the probation should be revoked. Is that what you mean by "pressured"? Nevertheless, just because the DA's office argues something, that doesn't mean the judge is required to agree with their argument.

Nope and I will never read another article with his name on it. No one should.

Speaking from experience, 1 misdemeanor will not cause probation to be revoked for another especially when incidents are separated by years.

I seriously doubt his probation gets revoked. If you've ever sat in court, every other person going up is there for a probation violation and nothing happens to them. Do you know how many prisoners there would be?

This is supremely irresponsible journalism. He is obviously a hack and the Advocate should be embarrassed he is on their staff.
