He throws 95-97 with good off speed but is soooo inconsistent so (depending on umpire) and his command we shall see. But def best AtM has thrown as far as just his fast ball velocity and off speed kinda like Iowa’s starter. We just can’t swing at balls in the dirt. I think if we have same approach and just swing at strikes we should be good in this game.

So, A & M saved him for the "we don't want to get swept game"?

They should’ve used him friday or Saturday instead of the don’t get swept game

It's been consistently...wrong. The plate is round according to the way these guys have called the first two games.

Must’ve known they weren’t getting game 1 for sure. The. Went with the “we can’t hit lefties approach” and we put up 12 runs lmao

Did we not face their normal Friday guy on Friday, and Saturday guy on Saturday?

Props to Edwards just not losing his shite yesterday. The batter was out TWICE on strikes and then the first base ump screwed the pooch on the check swing.

And I'm pretty sure that guy scored their 7th run. That whole sequence was a travesty.

Tight zone yestrday would not have been kind to Cortez. He's usually 95-97 but can struggle with finding the zone as stated previously.

Good to know. If the Tigers hit him well then it will cancel out Iowa. If we struggle today then we have officially found a kryptonite.

This guy throws 95-97, the kid from Iowa threw 99-101, don’t think these correlate.

If his 95-97 doesn't move much, then they rename their field Cape Canaveral.

LSU batters walked around the bases all day yesterday so safe to say he is going to have to throw strikes.

His stats are the worst of the three starters. 17 innings, 17 SO, 12 walks, 16 hits, 5.6 ERA. Early in the season stats aren’t as consequential as well.

It really doesn't matter who they throw against this team. It might take 2-3 innings, but LSU WILL get to any pitcher they face.

Dettmer is their best and he pitched Friday. They would do better using another lefty I bet.

My Aggie friends say he is more inconsistent than consistent. They have zero faith in him if that helps answers any questions
