I was in Hammond today to watch Tameka Johnson's John Curtis team win the state championship. I was not pulling for her because I had a relative on the Mount Carmel team.

Curtis had a comfortable lead at halftime, then Mt. Carmel dominated the third quarter and in to the 4th quarter. Curtis poured it on in the last 3 minutes and won by 4.

I will start to keep an eye out on her as possibly being our coach in waiting. I can think of worse ideas.

I don’t care who the current or future head coach of LSU women’s basketball is. Whoever it is, we have overpaid.

We may overpay, but we may as well win while we are doing it.

Meh. The impact women’s basketball has whether we win or not is negligible.

If Temeka continues to win at Curtis, I think she'd be a GREAT hire for LSU. Although normally I'd want a coach with college experience, I think we could make an exception for one of our greatest players in program history. I wish her continued success at Curtis, till it's time to come on home.

Tameka Johnson

Great player but somewhat haunted by her own "Fess Irvin moment" with that inexplicable turnover in the 2004 Final Four.

Wrong. Fess missed the free throw in the quarter finals where the winner went to the final 4. If Tameka wouldn't have made her turnover it could have slowed down the Tennessee dynasty for sure. However, Fess missing a free throw was way bigger than Tamekas turnover because LSU would have went to the final four.... IN NEW ORLEANS!

You make a reasonably good argument, however not definitively convincing.

If Fess hits those FTs, LSU does indeed go to the Final Four, but if Tameka doesn't turn the ball over the Lady Tigers are in the Championship Game with Augustus probably looking to redeem herself for her mediocre performance in the Semifinals.

Tameka's turnover happened in the Final 4 in New Orleans.

The moment teenage me realized women’s basketball was a joke not worth watching.

I have nothing to add other than that was a very strangely worded synopsis Poured it on.. and won by 4 points
