A number of people have asked why Miles Brennan is not playing in garbage time...

I do not understand this question. Why would you play him in garbage time. We need to redshirt him and encourage him to add 20 - 25 lbs. He currently is listed as 183 lbs versus Burrows at 216 lbs. that is a 33 lb difference.
Unless there is an injury to Burrows, I would play Brennan in the last 4 games of the season. Until we lose those 4 games are TAM, SEC championship, playoffs.
I would consider playing him in the 2nd half of GA and or Ala if we are behind since a loss would knock us out of the playoffs.
Getting a redshirt on Brennan would give him 2 years after Burrow leaves.

Plan is to play Brennan later in season probably starting with Rice, maybe Arkansas to ensure if Burrow gets hurt at that point or later and Brennan has to take over he can still play in only up to 4 games and take the redshirt.
If we blow out any team leading up to Arkansas or Rice - which I dont think will happen, I would expect Sale maybe to close the game out.

Burrow needs reps too, so I don't mind seeing Brennan ride the bench for now.
That being said, I'd really like to see the designed runs cut down when up by 28.

I agree Burrow needs the reps, remember this is a new team for him, new scheme, and he hadn't started since high school.

Brennan isn't ever going to start for LSU. Some of you have no clue how to judge qb play. He is currently not a quality SEC caliber qb and never will be.

Offense needed to build chemistry for the upcoming games. Some the cupcake games we didn’t put them away quickly enough for Brennan to get in.

Brennan is your backup and it would have been nice to prepare him. You would have preferred his first snaps not to be in a critical situation against the likes of FL, GA, MSU, or Bama while we're still playing for everything. But we had to be smart about it and only put him in when the game was in hand, there was substantial time remaining (a quarter or more), and Burrow and the offense weren't struggling. We just haven't had the opportunity that meets those requirements.

The coaching staff seems to be taking the gamble that if burrow stays healthy, and Brennan redshirts we will have finally stabilized the QB situation at LSU. Their only hedge to this bet is the new redshirt rule allowing brennan to come in for an emergency that hopefully doesn't force him to play more than 4 games
