This is what our offense is. It is about space and timing. Most of TJs throws last night were in the 5-20 yards range. His only real misses were an overthrow on a deep ball and a miscommunication that he took ownership of.

The LSU offense is going to have success as long as we have QBs that are able to do two things:

1). Throw the slant.
2). Throw over the middle.

The only asterisk is that we need to run the ball well.

We are doing the same thing now that the Alabamas/Ohio States of the college football world are doing. A deep ball with touch makes this offensive style nigh upon impossible to stop.

Get used to it. LSU is going to have successful starters AND backups moving forward. There can’t be a QB controversy every year. Having a backup that can come in and run the game plan on schedule is amazing, but it takes a lot to unseat a starter and Myles is the clear starter until he struggles.

I love how TJ played, but he grew into the game. Ensminger called an amazing game and got him settled in and allowed his nerves to subside before asking more of him.

Also remember... there are no fans right now. If we rolled with him the rest of the year, what happens when we play at the Swamp and he has a bad game? Are we going to sacrifice half a game against UF just because we like how a freshman played in one game?

Not very smart if you ask me.

TL/DR: Myles is the man. We have two capable backups, and our offensive style is setting those two up for success in almost any scenario.

The defense will let us down in every game. We are the Saints form 2014-2016.

Agreed. And props to the staff for tailoring a game plan around his skills and keeping him in his comfort zone doing what he does best. He throws an incredibly catchable ball.

You realize that’s covers like 95 percent of all passing for any offense right?

People drastically overstated how often and how important deep air passes are.

Myles couldn’t lead the team In for one yard to beat Missouri.

Stats are great, but the guy is not a leader on this football team. If I’m coaching staff, I move forward with the player that the team responds to.

TL/DR: I think we need to stop posting on emotion, and go look at the Brennan highlights / passes through first three games and then look at last nights clip. It's night and frickin' day.

I agree with everything you said, but this portion seems to be a common sentiment this morning. “Well he was allowed to get comfortable in the game,” like that’s a bad thing.

Give the kid some credit—it was an SEC game in his first start and he did all that was asked and more and we won the game. No need for everyone to run to Myles’ defense Because TJ played well. He can stand up for himself with his play.

Especially watch the offensive line play, the lack of a running game, and the drops by receivers.

Agree with most of what you said but the "no fans" comment applies equally to myles Brennan. Hes never played any meaningful snaps really with hostile situations either. He was mainly just doing mop up duty for burrow. Honestly myles would frighten me more with the game on the line. He seems so nervous and frantic. I don't know what they should do going forward but im not ruling TJ out after how he played and how several other phases of the game woke up for us last night.

Myles has completed many deep bombs on a rope. TJ looked great and I’m excited for the future, but this is lacking in his game at this point ( or at least the trust in the coaches to call it)

I'll take poise, mobility, and ability to throw outside the hashes on the run over a pretty deep ball all day long.

Only players, coaches, and true insiders can qualify what Babboo writes - but it sure looks like there's some validity to it.

I didn’t mean any negative connotation around allowing him to grow into the game. It simply means he had a bit of help getting comfortable. Still had to execute, but the staff did great with him.

As for the 5-20 ya route comment, I do understand it is the bulk of passion, but I said it that way to emphasize that we were not pushing the ball thirty+ yards downfield and stressing the safeties the way Brennan does.

As far as it being night and day, I couldn’t agree more. Brennan is the clear winner. Zero run game help, and put up more points in two of three games than what TJ did WITH a run game.

People are getting bright-eyed and bushy-tailed over the 52-spot we dropped, but forgetting that we had a pick-six and a kick return TD.

TJ stepped up and stepped in like he was a vet, but let’s not forget that Myles is setting records and destroying defenses even WITHOUT run support.

When you have a QB that can do that, you don’t bench him.

And no matter what... none of that means anything with our defense.

Honestly we could have an NFL offense and we’d still lose 5 games.

Your QB MUST BE A THREAT TO RUN TO BE THE VERY BEST. He must be able to do the things you said and pressure the defense with his legs when necessary. That limits pass coverage by LBs on TE or RBs. They have to dedicate a spy. There’s the difference between a Fields and Brennan.

Don’t be yellin’ baw!

Max Johnson is the closest thing to Fields we have on the roster.

I hate to tell you, but TJ is NOT a run threat. He isn’t Cam Newton. He does not have the burst or top-end speed. He is a big-bodied, durable pocket passer who happens to be able to put his shoulder down for a few extra yards.
