A little optimism regarding Canada's offense

Canada's blocking scheme for this offense does not rely on using brute force to overpower the D line and just run straight ahead . The pre snap motion pulls defenders out of the box putting us in more one on one blocking situations and also it's a zone scheme. Blocking success this year will rely more on positioning and technique . Doubling up to the backers and sealing defenders . Opening up 1 on 1 tackling situations against Guice , bruising backs and speedy wideouts .
Also Canada has stressed he doesn't want Etling just bouncing around in the pocket . There are going to be bootlegs and quick passing plays to keep Etling protected . Yes losing O lineman is always bad but if our lineman are smart and on the same page we will be fine . We had a way better O line than Ole Miss but look what they did to Bama with execution. A nice zone scheme, spreading teams out and letting your playmakers make plays takes a ton of pressure off your line rather than "Hey be stronger and push them straight back."
The 99 yard Drive
Football is 80% mental .

Get this out of here.
We are doomed, the program is on an unavoidable down-swing, Coach O, Les Miles, Grimes, Stevens to WR, we're the worst team in the west and probably the SEC...
Just summarizing the other comments if this thread gets past 1 page.

Lol, I know . I just wanted to try . We go through this shite every year a month before game day and people act like the sky is falling . Im going to have to start taking a pledge of no Tiger Rant 1 month before the season starts.

It's understandable why people are more than concerned about the line. Everyone and their brother knows it all starts up front and without a solid line a very average season is a real possibility. People are tired of average seasons, that's why LSU fired a coach with a title.

I just hope the offense line is better this year than last or it will be a very long season!

That article perfectly showed how well Canada can hide o-line deficiencies. I am excite.

Calm down everyone, LSU added Justin Jefferson to the roster, all is well!

Left Tackle: KJ Malone, Austin Deculus, Saahdiq Charles
Left Guard: Garrett Brumfield, Ed Ingram
Center: Will Clapp
Right Guard: Lloyd Cushenberry, Donavaughn Campbell
Right Tackle: Toby Weathersby, Jakori Savage
This is the depth chart now. It isn't as doom and gloom as the posters on here make it seem. No, it isn't ideal, but Malone is the only Sr and the juniors aren't likely to leave early.

I remember the melt before the 2011 season. Just saying.

Canada's offense and Guice are tailor made for each other.
I predict Guice has over 2000 all purpose yards this year and that we have more different players score touchdowns than any year since 2007

Thanks for the positive post. Reading tRant lately, you'd think the world's poles had shifted and it's axis reversed.
I believe the team actually looks to have as good a chance as any other year to be special. And I believe the offense finally has a real chance to be what we have wanted for the last decade- a team that can run the football and pass it, and use each to set the other up.
Go ahead and let the downvotes rain, but I refuse to see any negatives until Aranda and Canada give me something to be negative about.

That drive against a good Penn St D is just ridiculous. They made it look easy. I mentioned this in a previous thread that due to Canada emphasizing technique, scheme and mobility, we don't need the physically developed OL as much and can insert the younger OL with less drop off if they pick up Canada's scheme.

Ya but it doesn't matter what offense u run if the DT's are blowing up your C & G's your offense is pretty much screwed.

We lost one starting lineman lol. Cushenberry will fill his spot and may end up being better, you never know. Our starting offensive line will be fine.

Actually it does when you use over aggressive play to your advantage, redirection and motion to keep the D guessing. If they push up field and take themselves out of the play, who cares if they win the head to head battle.
