I'll preface this by saying I'm not happy with the OC search or choice and will more than happily contribute to U-Haul costs for Alleva and O.

With that, what do we have to be hopeful about?

Aranda will orchestrate a seasoned, talented D with more DL and LB depth then we've had in some time. I expect them to be firing on all cylinders game one.

We have a reliable kicker (amazing this is a highlighted positive). We'll need one since I don't expect a juggernaut offense.

Due to a reduction of elite RB talent we will be more balanced and pass more often. Enter James Cregg OL coach. He has had historic success with pass protection at USC, Tenn. and the Denver Broncos. We'll need it.

Brennan and Narcisse give us the best QB talent we've had in years. Brennan gives us the ability to attack the middle and intermediate routes we lacked with Etling.

We have a proven starter (transfer) in Giles who should be an upgrade at the WR spot. We also add the #1 WR in Marshall. Sullivan and Davis are capable and Dee Anderson appears out of the dog house (got more PT in bowl game).

Ensminger is not going to set the world on fire. We know that. He will be less conservative than Cameron was and we now have the talent in the passing game at QB, WR and OL to be more effective.

Regardless of the outcome of the season I am ready for regime change because there can be no sustainable success with the incompetence from the AD and HC position, but we could still salvage a good season. If not, there's always alcohol.

Or an SEC Title. I'm going to laugh my arse off if LSU wins the SEC next season.

Honestly, if I'm Aranda right now, I want to punch Coach O and Alleva in the face.

He gets the privilege of coaching ANOTHER year where his defense has to be fricking zero defect or else.

If we won the SEC and lost in the playoffs, this board will still scream for firings lol.

It’s an LSU tradition to want to fire someone every year.

For the first time in a long time, we will not have elite talent at the RB position.

Many of yall are seriously overlooking that fact.

This is true but you have no idea how that position will end up playing out. The RB's we will have are very capable of getting it done. Give them a chance!! frick, does it have to be doom and gloom 24/7?

RBs - no doubt a step back, but we will likely do RB by committee. Talented, but not elite.

New QBs - new, but extremely talented. The NC game featured 2 true freshmen. Brennan and Narcisee are soph. and RS fresh.

WRs - Giles sat out, but is already acclimated. His last season at Tx Tech he was a 1000+/10TD+ receiver. Marshall is the real deal and we return 4-5 WRs who saw PT last season.

New offense - different, but not new. Maybe the one benefit of Ensminger is there won't be much terminology or scheme adjustments for the players. SE will make a smooth transition. It will actually allow us to be more effective early on.

Schedule - yep, it's brutal.

With the exception of RB, I think we are upgraded across the board on O, D and ST.

The addition of Jerry Sullivan finally gives LSU a proven WR coach that can get the most out of these WRs. He'll be the best WR coach we've had since Adam Henry

prety much, O will be able to win enough games because of Aranda's talents to stay the head coach at LSU. Keep the Status quo. LSU does not care about championships, that is to expensive. No, LSU just wants to win enough games to keep the fan base into it so they will keep pumping in money.

Next year is the first time since at least 2002 that I don’t feel like we have a snowballs chance in hell of making the national championship. There isn’t much to look forward to besides the fact that Aranda is still on staff

With Shrek running the program, the only way LSU has any shot at winning the SEC is if MB plays like Peyton Manning in his heyday.

So when he goes out to visit recruits, will he be using a walker or his Hove-A-Round?

There will probably be a break in period at CB as well. Hopefully Fulton will finally click on the lightbulb or Surtain can step in from day 1. Otherwise we're going to miss KT and DJ.
