It's still in Florida though, which means it's an easier recruiting job. Why would he leave it?
Why does any coach ever leave one big program for another?

How much is O’Sullivan getting paid now?

If he had the exact same success at LSU as he’s had at UF, our fans would be trying to run him out of town.

Outbid a school with more money to buy a coach that achieved pretty much the same results as the guy we want fired but did so with more recruiting advantages and more talented teams?

I agree with your post.

But then the roaches crawl out and shoot down every name you give them.

Baseball coaches are not like FB coaches where they leave at the drop of a hat for a raise.

We would most likely go the MSU route where we hire an up and comer baseball coach. Although, I would not bet against Woodward when it comes to hiring unattainable coaches.

How did this rumor start?

Florida has made it to Omaha 7 times in the last 10 years with 1 title

CPM has made it to Omaha 3 times in the lat 10 years with 0 titles

Their last decade isnt even close to comparable. People need to stop acting like the two coaches programs have been equal. They havent

They’re not firing Paul but they should push him to address his staff.

Cain is recruiting well but it’s certainly not a in irreplaceable skill especially here, just doesn’t make sense to have him taking up one of your paid coaches spots.

we literally had posters saying they wanted CPM fired even if we won it all this year you think our fan base would be satisfied just by making it to Omaha? Not to mention the egg he laid this year.

Look I think O’Sullivan is a good coach but would say there is zero % chance he leaves UF.

just getting to omaha isn't acceptable here. THIS IS LSU. CHAMPIONSHIP OR BUST. you are crazy to believe that if lsu made it to omaha 7 out of 10 years and only won it once that lsu fans wouldn't be calling for his job and you know it. all you would hear is that he can't win the big one like skip did and we need to go get someone who can.

This is all true.

But, I think the fanbase would be going bezerk if Mainieri had been to Omaha 7 times with only the 1 title.

It's not that LSU has gotten worse. It's more that everybody else has gotten bounds and bounds better.

Lot more parity than the Skip days.

I dont really give a shite what other people say. I am speaking for myself

I judge the season honestly by making it to omaha then letting the chips fall. My post from pre-season expecations even as the number 1 team

Sully is doing just that. He is making Omaha consistently. CPM isnt. They arent comparable coaches these last 10 years

The College game has changed and LSU is creeping downward. Is it too much to ask for PM to adjust a few things to stop the regression?

Great coaches are never satisfied with success & status quo.
