8,219 Miles later, the Tigers are America’s Team
Posted by tigernnola on 8/15/20 at 6:09 pm1052
Just ended a long vacation road trip to the Canadian border in Montana, through the national parks in Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Idaho, New Mexico, Arizona, down to Big Bend in Texas. I still have TX plates, LSU-4538, that college football fans everywhere had a comment, or question. In more than three weeks, every single conversation over a few cold ones, all expressed how much they enjoyed watching the team last year. Many loved Coach O & his growing Cajun accent and many commented about the obvious camaraderie of the Tigers saying that is what college football should be about.
FWIW, just was not ready to go back to the office, so extended a couple of days & went to Grand Isle. Great trip, but great to be back in the salt water.

Incredible road trip. Last year's football team had a ton of followers around the world, even fans of other schools really pulling for us to do what we did as the season progressed. We shut alot of the loudmouths up that other schools have struggled to do. Dream season. Now, let's build on it.

LSU is a really popular team.
We consistently get the highest rated national games in the SEC year after year.
Had someone from Colorado tell me it's partly the uniforms being unique, and mostly the way the team always carries itself.
Said it reminds him and his friends of the old Miami. But without the thug image.

Red Lodge is a great place to visit.
went there in 2015 on my motorcycle.
great twisting roads with 10,000 feet plus elevation.
met a LSU alumnus in Granby, CO over looking the lake. (i had an LSU cap on)
hope to plan another trip in the near future.

MichalTT - ya have to understand that I “joke” about a 25 year exile in TX. Cannot count the time I single handedly carried the flag against the most obnoxious college fans in America. I was at the game last year & ordered that night from the hotel. With the cancellation, doubt I will be around for the next meeting. Just my little dig at the UT fans. All the kids & grandchildren are still in TX, so it’s been a lot of fun with the different responses .... depending upon which side of the border I am on :-) Let an old man have his fun while he can.
