After listening to OTB this morning where Jordy mentioned that Giles asked for #7 prior to the season and the coaching staff should’ve said no.. I full heartedly agree with this take.
Giles has to earn it on the field while playing AT LSU, not what he did in the past with TT.
Should’ve been given to Greedy or Delpit IMO.
Too much tradition and history to dilute it now.

Well, it's not Giles's fault. it's the fault of coaching. They made the error in evaluation.
They seemed certain his results would translate, so they thought he had earned it.

Why do posters keep suggesting this as if it is actually going to happen? He won’t have a new number unless he decides to give it up.

Not reassigned. It should have never being given to Giles - not proven playmaker for LSU - we had a few other guys that were highly deserving.

Maybe this inspires us to quit the number traditions. I can’t believe people actually believe Mauck “passed on” 18 to true freshman Jacob Hester.
