With the NCAA saying this year does not count towards eligibility, we have the prospect of a player being at LSU for 6 years if they take a redshirt in a later year. It looks like they could play in unlimited games this year and still play in 4 games next year for a redshirt the way this is being discussed. This could really help a player like TJ Finley who needs more time to develop. I’m also guessing Von Rosenberg comes back because he just seems to love college and is great at what he does but not a likely pro. I could see a WR like Kirklin or S like Harris staying for an extra year too. What other guys do think we might see staying for 6 years at LSU? It will basically be guys that are good enough the coaches want them back but not good enough to be certain NFL draft picks.

This will depend on how many additional scholarships we have if any.

I don't know if he did, or even if he could at Harvard. But I could see Shanahan potentially coming back next season. This is his first year ever playing center and certainly there is a HUGE jump in the competition level from the Ivy League to the SEC. Might be a guy that tries to take somewhat of a Chusenberry route. First year starter at center in 2018. All SEC player in 2019. NFL starter in 2020.

Burreaux wishes he'd been born one year later.

NCAA has said you will get 85 plus the seniors that stay so numbers won’t be a problem. Anybody that wants to stay can stay.

And we've got more open spots than srs so numbers will not be our friend or foe this off-season. Our only number of significance is 25. That's how many recruits/scholarship transfers we can bring in. And we will still be under 85 most likely.(dependent on said srs leaving and natural attrition)

It will be interesting to see who stays and goes, I would imagine most are definitely leaving, especially if they have NFL stock.

Hard to see guys like Stevens, Deculus staying with all the time and snaps they've already put in. Plus Stevens could be a 1st/2nd day type of pick ultimately.

Shanahan is exactly the kind of guy who would stay. The recent transfer at CB from Nicholls St too.

I would think that with the punter we have coming in it might be time for ZVR to go start that family

Zach Von Rosenberg might be 40 by the time he’s done here.

And he’s loving every minute. I never wish I had left LSU sooner. He should work on an MBA and stay.

Maybe ZVR would stay to be the holder for a year.
