I can't think of another football program that has achieved that in the last 20-25 years or so! Says something about the talent we have always had here!

Miami is the only other program ever to do it with three consecutive head coaches. When Kelly leads us to another one we will be the only program with four straight head coaches to win a national title.

In all seriousness, has any program ever had 4 straight HCs win a national championship?

There have been several with 2 over the decades. LSU currently at 3, which I read Michigan also did way back in the day. Perhaps others?

But 4 seems unprecedented. And something Brian Kelly has the opportunity to give us.

Gee since we are the only team to do it in the last 25 years I’m sure you can’t think of another team. For me I know of no team to ever do that in history over a 16 year period.

It's the school and the state, not the coach.

Miami did it in 7 years:

Schnellenberger in '83
Jimmy Johnson in '87
Erickson in '89
