Perhaps Hawthorne's second best call of his career after the Warren Morris home run

THERIOT A-ROUNDS 3RD

Hawpe absolutely nuked two home runs against USC in the 1-0 game.

The comeback in 2000 is almost as improbable as the Morris home run in 1996. LSU was down 5-2 with 1 out in the 8th with no hits since the 2nd inning against Justin Wayne and his vulcan death grip.

Fella behind Mark Cresse had on a Coon's Corner shirt.

Shoutout to the two dudes who ran on the field to join the dogpile.

The fact that LSU is 5-0 in 1 game championships in baseball is a fun fact to tell opposing fans. Also nice reminder of how special that stretch of 10 years was.
With parity in the sport now chances of that happening again are slim and 0

-Ray Wright's catch

_Brad Hawpe's second HR against USC. The most violent assault I ever seen on a baseball.

-Trey Hodges coming out of nowhere to win MVP.

Remember watching that game with my late grandpa when I was about 14. I remember Stanford leading the entire game and they were being mouthy and all cocky from the dugout. My grandpa said “they’re about to piss off those Cajun boys and get their asses kicked. “

I went fishing with my brother before that game. They weren’t biting so we decided to get home in time to watch the game. This is when my fandom for the Tigers hit third gear.

The first one Hawpe hit was off of Mark Prior but the second one Hawpe hit into the gorilla cage at the zoo wasn't.

I remember thinking that beat any of Roger Maris’s right field catches. Completely heroic. Kept us in the game.

My sister in law got married that day. I was with the grooms men in the back of the church watching the game. About the 8th inning it’s time to start the wedding so they all had to leave. I watched a little more and put my ear phones in and went to sit in the church. The grooms men are watching me during the ceremony to see my reactions. Gave them the thumbs up when Creese got the hit that scored Theriot

I love the fans eating the Stanford left fielder up. RIP rowdy LSU baseball fans. They had no clue 12 years later we would go from that to having a team cuck us and giving them a victory lap.
