2025 FB Home game trip - Florida 9/13

In the ultra early phases of identifying the home game we will attend for the season and feeling certain it will be vs the gators on 9/13.
This one will be the SEC home opener. A classic rival who beat us last season. Perhaps Florida will also be ranked? The atmosphere for the Florida games always seems to hit. This one should be fun.
My other option was South Carolina. That would be cool also but there’s not much history there like we have with Florida.

SEC Opener is always a good one.

May be a hot one in TS. I’ll be there when the gates open though. Looking forward to this game more than any other this season.
What’ll our record be after this game? If it’s 1-2 all holy hell the Rant will be.

It can go one of two ways. We can be coming off a huge Clemson win feeling great walking into an all time elite TS environment OR we can be coming off an embarrassing Clemson loss looking to bounce back.
Either way I can’t see TS being anything less than 100K for this one.
It will be hot but so will be any games until mid November. Florida A&M and Bama are the 3 I have circled in general. Must win games if they want CFP

It’ll be my son’s first time to kick in Tiger Stadium…going to be so surreal. He’s just the backup for UF, but he’ll get to fully warm up before the game, and maybe again at half time. It’ll be the first road game in college…a coming home if you will. Hope to see some FGs from the eye.

September 13 is always dicey in BR. Either it will be hot as the hinges of Hades (September day games in Death Valley should be outlawed), or it will raining cats & dogs w/ lightning, or there will be a hurricane warning. Chances of a "normal" weather day will be slim.

That alone should justify night games only in Tiger Stadium during that time frame.

Kelly was lobbying for that after the UCLA game last season. He brought up some law in Arizona that bans day games during September.
My solution to this is an SEC rule that allows the teams who bring the highest ratings to choose their kickoff time. So if you’re 15th and 16th you might get stuck with 11 AM games every week or even Friday night games. Honestly who cares if Vandy is playing Mizzou on a Friday night?
Pretty much Texas, LSU, UGA, Bama and Tennessee will always play at 2:30, 6 or 7

Night games only in September. Mid to late October can have one or two 11 am games.
It’s so dumb how much TV dictates it and they have zero common sense or logic when it comes to the weather. It’s just not safe having a game with mid 90s heat index at 230 because it’s the “game of the week” or whatever bs they call it.
I’ve always been an advocate for the cupcake November game being played at 11. Just get it out of the way and move on. Playing Wku at 7 PM on SECN+ on 11/22 is just dumb.

Yeah all true, I recall the Nicholls game last Sept 7 although at 6:30 was not oppressive as usual but UCLA was totally a rough one. UF will be used to it though so will be a barn burner!

You can't go wrong with either. UF and USCe have good-to-great QBs. Only other teams that may have better QBs are TX, LSU & maybe Tenner.

Oklahoma’s new QB is supposed to be the real deal. Mateer.

That UCLA game on September 21 last year was brutal beyond belief. Fans attending the game were falling out due to heat exhaustion; you can only imagine what the players experienced. Unfortunately that was when Perkins went out for the season.

I was there. It was definitely one of the hottest games in the past 10+ seasons.
My take on the fans falling out due to heat exhaustion. Majority of these cases are certainly people who have irresponsibly been drinking like they would on any other gameday so they put themselves in a bad position. To say otherwise is naive. I’d say 95% of the heat exhaustions in the fans is preventable. The problem is that nobody takes it serious and they don’t realize how out of shape they actually are.
It can impact the players for sure but these guys are conditioned for these and most are from the Deep South. It might change your game plan a little bit but overall it’s manageable. They have portable AC and massive fans along with the big shade visors on the sidelines. Then there’s the ventilated helmets they use as well. Our guys are well taken care of on the heat exhaustion front. Assuming they are doing the right thing by not partying and sticking to the script.
Perkins injury was a freak accident and had zero to do with the heat. Just like Weeks injury vs Baylor. Bad luck and it’s part of the game.
