How hot is O’s seat getting?

A 7 win season, is he in trouble?

Are we talking about another covid season or a regular 12 game season with 4 OOC games?

Yes. Especially if he screws up these hires again.

It depends on who he hires IMO

He has to get the hires right. There's a lot riding on it and I think he knows it. If he didn't, we wouldn't be reading about a majority of assistants not returning next season.

I can't really give a W/L record without knowing who he hires first.

He has to get these hires right. They can't be good hires. They need to be home runs.

Not in trouble of getting fired IMO. But, if he goes 7-5 with that amount a talent and basically a completely hand picked staff then he will be on the hot seat for 2022.

Assuming we win the four OOC games (UCLA may be tough), that would put LSU at 3-5 in the SEC and playing in a low-tier bowl. That might be bad enough to get him canned. If at least one of those three wins comes against Bama, Auburn, UF, or A&M, that would mean at least two losses would come against Ole Miss, MSU, Kentucky, or Ark. That would not be a sign of progress, if you ask me. He'd be in big trouble. Just my $0.02.

With that being said, I do want him to be successful.

Yep. And "but we have new coaches and massive staff turnover" won't be an acceptable excuse considering O's actions directly led to said turnover (hiring/firing Linehan, Pelini, etc..)

New hires have to come in and be damn near elite from Day 1
