I like Thornhill a lot but we have a lot of players in front of her.
She's a great teammate, everyone loves her. Extremely hardworking and a tiger at heart

As for Springfield, she does bend her knees a bit and when she starts to swing, she straightens up a bit, and then starts that long, slow swing.
When you crouch, you stay in a crouch, you keep your level the same... or if she wants to be more upright, she needs to get her level sorted out, start out at that level, and launch the bat. What the guy said about a 65 degree plane... when a player is that big, and super powerful as Springfield is, you need to be remove all the wasteful motions and launch the bat without all the extra movements prior to the swing.

When Springfield barrels it up my god that shite will hit your windshield window.
Yup I agree about the swing. I think will proper changes you will see her hit much more consistent and for better average.
Excited that we get to see her for three more years. Her swing has a loop in it. She gets way too underneath the ball.

Springfield is going to be the SEC's nightmare. Once she gets it all fixed up.. she gonna hit the choo choo out in left field in Knoxville.

I really like Thornhill. She is a smart player, and she has a great glove. She probably a better first baseman than we know.
She dips bad, she srops her shoulder and golfs... I wouldnt give up on her. If they gave me a day with her i could probably get her hitting the ball. Great kid. If she goes somewhere else, they gonna make her an exceptional player, watch.

Doyle too has the power to do it as well, everyone seems to get completely under the ball every time. A lot of our players have the power to drive it out anytime, he'll even Serrett can as well

Serret can hit some screamers. They gotta fix her swing.
Yeah two things... our batters usually swing under the ball, and we got problems with pitches on the outside corner of the plate.
I watched Weinberger a few times.. she seems to be solid out in the field, has good speed, and is smart. She slaps. That might be why she dont bat much.
I have no idea what kind of record our softball team will turn out.
Are the girls we got coming in going to make us better than the 2017 team?
Who is going to transfer TO Lsu? The girl from Oklahoma?
And.... what has Beth promised the incoming class? We only have Catcher and Right field open. I doubt very seriously any of the returning starters will be benched, and it seems like Springfield will move to first, and Doyle goes to third. Sanchez plays second.
I just cant see how we will be better than this past season. Let's hope the girls we have returning improve at the plate, the ones coming in are ready out the box.

Sounds somewhat exciting, Springfield is a true 1B, Doyle is the best 3B on the team, she is really solid anywhere defensively. Sanchez did a solid job at times but never looked comfortable throwing across the the infield. All her throws were low or off a bit plus 2B is natural position for her. I've seen her practice there so many times and it fits her extremely well.
Sanchez isn't near as bad offensively as people want to make it out too be, her issue is she gets way to much underneath the ball like a lot of other hitters. When she squares up on it it'll always be at the fence.
Her last game was really nice at the plate, need consistency though

As far as the freshman, Sunseri will be utilize in every way. Beth raves about her bat, very explosive and powerful.
I'm sure Antoine will be played with. I would assume she would be a starter in the OF but we won't know until the season.
Caccamise is the sleeper, very versatile and has nice gap power

Serious question. If Hemphill had decided on LSU instead of Bama, would Beth play her being that she is a La. kid or would she sit like the other La. girls?
Posted on 6/7/17 at 10:47 pm to Bhs83
Not until LSU confirms it. As far as now she is still on the team, haven't seen a statement by LSU or her family.
Would be a shame if she did, to me transferring because of lack of play as a freshman would be kinda weak.
Also that last at bat was ridiculously alarming and everyone knows it.

1) of doesn't matter. She was never coming to LSU

Has LSU announced Smith or Satchell leaving? Where do you find it?
Posted on 6/7/17 at 10:55 pm to Keyboard Warrior
i really find it extremely hard to believe that a coach would have a problem starting girls from the same state the school is in .. i really do have a hard time with that idea.
Is it because Nicky didnt start over Quinn?
What kind of message does it send to prospective players if Beth benches a senior to make a freshman happy? There are a lot of instances across the whole sports spectrum where seniority is given the nod. It happens.
There were no superstars sitting on the bench this year. Weinberger is a good kid, and a good player, but there was not much of a chance she'd start. I doubt she had a problem with not starting. Maybe she'd like to have played more, and do more than just pinch running, but I think she knows he wasnt going to start.
Why was Landry an exception to the "louisiana player" rule? I dont believe Beth has a problem with Louisiana players.
People like to use psychology like that... since Nicky didnt start, its because she is from Louisiana.. really silly. '
'
We gonna get to see Nicky next year regardless of where she goes. She didn't set the world on fire with the chances she was given.
I agree, its hard to make an impression on one at bat in a game, and only get that chance once in a while...but the way yall were talking about the girl, I was expecting some monster that knocked the ball all over the park. I think she can do .400, as a touch and go hitter, due to her speed, and i think she has great batting form, but she didnt set the world on fire this year.
Next year, somewhere, she will get her chance..but to say she sat because she is from Louisiana, that's preposterous.
Hemphill would have DP'd I guess, sometimes.
