Of the returning players or say the way the lineup I thought should have went this previous year?

This past year. Can't predict a future lineup until everything settles down.

Personally I'm not going to rip on a coach because I don't see practice everyday, I don't know any of the stuff that happens internally like everyone else. It's legit criticism to wonder why we continued to play certain people who continuously struggled and I understand that. Me as a coach I would work other people in and see how it goes but I'm not the coach. Obviously they are doing something right at the moment with their post season success.
Why specially they have a .240 hitter and .920 fielder? I can't specifically answer as to why. I'll would never dare to attack a player, they bust their arse off and represent LSU. But I can understand the questions as they are valid.

As soon as I noticed they wouldn't pitch to Jaquish, I'd have moved her to the leadoff position and put Landry behind her. I'd have had real competition for the 2 OF spots not occupied by Landry, as well as made Quinn earn every single inning at 2B. I'd have ran full H2H comp for 3B when Jaquish caught between Sanchez/Satchell/Doyle. I'd have held H2H for 2B between Quinn/Sanchez/Satchell as well. I'd have also worked the hell out of Satchell and Cunningham in the fall to establish a 2nd catcher that the pitchers & coaches fully trusted. Too much talent on this roster to pencil anyone in besides Landry/Jaquish/Serrett imo
Jaquish - C
Landry - RF
Doyle/Springfield - 1B (with a much shorter swing, more upright stance)
Satchell/Sanchez - 3B
Quinn - 2B
Serrett - SS
Andrews - CF/LF
Griggs - LF/RF (would have also tried her swinging a lot earlier, like last season. By far the most limited slapper)
Dawson - DP (no pitcher here is good enough to hit for themselves at this point)
Their success is very clearly tied to the pitchers Beth has. That's the bare facts.

I was really surprised to not see Cunningham at all, she is extremely talented and recruited pretty heavily from a lot of big schools.
Emily is a thousand times better swinging away. If she uses her hips she will generate much power.
Of all things my biggest concern is why a lot of hitters seemed to go backwards
Emily came to LSU as a freshman and hit .340
Serrett came last year and hit .300
Just lost as to why so many seemed to tail the other way. That concerns me the most to be honest.
Torina was a pitcher so I always expect us to be elite on the mound

Carley is going nowhere, fact.

Who said Carley was leaving?
That's gold

I think Griggs judges a ball hit straight at her better and has a better arm. That's why she's in center.

I agree on the part about pitching. Torina is a great pitching coach.
The issue with hitting is cleaning up some holes, or forcing plate discipline to cover them. Why do you have a 6' power hitter crouching down with a bat plane starting at 65 degrees? She's going to naturally stand up, then raise the barrel. That's 2 negative movements before she starts her forward swing. You cannot hit elite pitching this way. Hitting is not that complicated. It's mostly mental, but every coach has "their own way". But the truth is, the last 5 elite/above avg hitters (Jaquish/Bell/Simmons/Kloss/Landry) haven't been taught by Dobson. They used the exact swing they had when they arrived. They were given the freedom to fly or fail on their skill set. That increases confidence. In talented kids, that tends to yield results. There are no more Landry/Bell/Jaquish in the pipeline as of now, at least in my opinion.
I posted a year ago that MC did not catch much in travel ball. I know this. She won't catch much here either in my opinion.

Doyle came out of HS as one of the premier hitters on everyone's list. She was chosen to compete for the national team for a reason.
She should be hitting at least .280

Why are you talking to the alter? I've already quoted bs that he posted..

Andrews' approach to balls hit out to her is a little different than normal. She is fast, and covers ground, but the angle she takes is not what we are used to seeing. That being said, I am sure it will be addressed/fixed by the time next year comes. She is a great asset to the team, and they are going to fix her fielding, and i hope they leave her alone at the plate, she is going to be up in the high 300s next year.
I think Emily is the best defensive outfielder of the three (Landry, Andrews, Griggs). She has the best arm, has the best sense of the field, knows where she is when she gets ahold of the ball that is hit to the wall...
Griggs has a flat swing. . her problem is she doesnt use her hips, and she doesnt load her upper body. She does step forward and leave her her hands behind her, and it loads her body, but she is all arms. I'd have her crouch, teach her to turn her hips into the ball, and use her elbow pressure to increase her power.
Thornhill is a great fielder..she is not fast, but she is a natural softball player. She fields fly balls so effortlessly.. you can tell she is natural..like Doyle is. She gotta hit the ball, though, bat speed is her issue, her swing is too long and slow.

Thornhill should never see the field at a program like LSU.
