Watching the 2007 LSU/OM game on Cox. How in the hell did we win the NC with Jacob Cutrera and Luke Sanders playing so many snaps? And the offense looks like it’s in slow motion. Flynn threw for an impressive166 yards against a 3 win Reb team. Miles was one lucky SOB.

Yes miles was lucky but those two backers weren’t bad players. Flynn was efficient and a game manager. The game has changed drastically over 13 seasons. What don’t you understand?

Bc there were two top 5 draft picks on the d line including the most decorated defensive player in LSU history. Makes your job alot easier as a linebacker and lets not forget the championship game MVP Ricky Jean Francois helped us beat Ohio State as well. You win the game in the trenches. Do you even football bro?

#11 in the country in scoring offense.

that “slow motion” was actually pretty good for ‘07

What I’m watching is ugly. D is good yes but Dexter MCCluster is running wild and freaking Brent Shaeffer looks like Michael Vick. I guess I shouldn’t complain because it ultimately brought us O but I do not miss Les one damn bit.

Crowtons offense reined in by miles
2007 had a ways to go against 2019
Forgot Dorsey was battling injury down the stretch of that season
Probably why Arkansas was able to win that LSU game

LSU’s offense wasn’t much different than what majority of teams were running at that time. Les didn’t start holding the offense back until after ‘08. They had teams that ran the air raid offense but up tempo was barely around then. That was Chip Kelly’s first year as OC at Oregon and he’s the one that brought up tempo to mainstream.

That team battled injuries all year but were also helped by the fact college football didn’t have any dominant teams. LSU when healthy was the best team in the country. They proved that in the Virginia Tech and Ohio State games.

I’m not gonna lie ... and I know I’m not directly answering your initial post....

I was 1000% happy AF to win that national championship and it was real and that no one else could rightfully stake any claim.... but deep down I never ever liked the feeling that we were 12-2.

That being said ....

We are currently the 15-0 National Champions, and that’s all that matters. The GREATEST college football team and single season of ALL-TIME.

It’s not like Sanders and Cutrera were DJ Welter clones. Cutrera actually even scored a TD one time.

Right. Cutrera and Sanders were good players.

I always liked Cutrera. I remember he got an INT when we played UW the following year. That was one of the best away games I went to.

Sanders was never the same player after he tore his ACL in high school, but he was still good enough to start for LSU.

Really? Miles was lucky? In 2011 Miles put together the best regular season in the history of College Football, including 2019. He beat top 5 Oregon and Arkansas, 12th ranked Georgia, #2 Alabama on their home field, 4 other ranked teams (8 ranked teams total). He won the SEC, beat the eventual national champions, and beat three conference, or division, champions. He was preparing to be coronated as the national champions and the top college coach in the business when some douchebag kicker for Oklahoma State missed a 37 yard field goal putting Bama in a rematch title game. Lucky, huh?

That’s not the best game by which to judge the 07 team. When they were healthy and “on” they were without a doubt the best in the country, for example the VaTech and the OSU games. Keep in mind Miles notoriously ran a vanilla offense against inferior competition. The defense definitely didn’t play their best game against OM, or the second half of the season for that matter, and that was unfortunately a sign of things to come against R-Kansas later on.

That was 09. Opening game and JJ was the qb. We opened 08 with the qb from Harvard, Andrew Hatch, against App State in a 10 am game due to a hurricane.

You're right. My mistake.

Yeah, I was at that App State game too. Hottest game I've ever gone too.
